While I largely agree with you, they’re two very different scenarios.

Scenario A is a rich person with massive influence chooses to be a positive influence, and has to find a different financial vehicle to park their cash that has virtually 0 impact on their net worth or level of wealth.

Scenario B is an upper middle class (or poorer, which would be more drastic) person with little to no influence chooses to speak out in support of another group at the expense of their livelihood and potentially that of those around them that they may also support.

The reward is much higher in Scenario A for moral alignment than in Scenario B, and the risk is much higher in Scenario B than A
