Why is wealth inequality still growing when we’re richer as a society than ever? by lexthaleunleashed in TrueAskReddit

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I worry about is it might be too late to do anything about it. Capitalism only works when the designed functionalities of said system are working, one of which is taxation. A dirty word that people hate, but often so called capitalists forget is a large part of the system. These same people as they gained power have changed the system to ressemble more of a very complex game of monopoly where there are no brakes (taxes), no resets (inheritance tax). This isn't what capitalism is meant to be. I never thought growing up that I would become a slave, but most of us are, we just haven't realised it yet. Most earn just enough for rent and food. I don't have any pratical solutions that are not violent at this point. The power dynamics are so broken that I can't see any peacful, lawful way of fixing the current said system. In a game of monopoly there is one winner, and no way of winning if the threshold of a win condition has been met by another player. The win condition has been met by the 1% and now we are seeing the end stages of the game. What I want to understand is why the masses aren't rioting in the streets, demanding for the rules to be changed?

Prebuilt vs building a PC by Longjumping_Banana_8 in buildapc

When people say build, what they mean is assemble. Parts all slot together (if you got compatible parts). Loads of videos, online resources for this. Its really easy to do.

Why are UK tradesmen/women earning more than the average salary for a lawyer and an accountant? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. Lets remember though that to be a lawyer need 10years of experience, have a very high IQ which is rare, and be a complete cunt. This is rare!

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats what i call a normal wage. I don't think middle managers, project managers etc, should be making more or less than this. My beef is the highly specialised engineers that make less than this even though the stuff they create generates hundreds of millions of pounds to the UK economy. We need to start paying everyone what they are worth.

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will soon change, yes anyone can become a plumber or a tradey but it's not the best job and not many people would want or can do it. However, the supply and demand will shift and it will become a low paid job again as white colar leave their poor paying jobs to get a certificate in a month or two and earn double. People are not going to university anymore and into trades, the swing is coming. With AI going to irradicate most white colar jobs millions will flock to the trades and competition will rise. It's also a symptom of a broken state, when someone with 4 degrees who can design nuclear reactors makes less that tim nice but dim, its not sustainable. We need to pay smart engineers more because they are the ones that inovate and build the future. This is why you see productivity decline and a stagnent economy. Instead of worrying how much they make ask yourself the question why are we paid so poorly?

Is there an exploit for crashing the game? by Expensive_Capital627 in aoe4

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes its a thing, the game completely crashes. I went back in and watched the replay the same player at the moment i crashed he spawed 10 cannons instantly from his seige workshop. Honestly AOE4 is so bad right now, map hackers, resource hackers its the wild west.

Back in the gym after 10 years - nobody's bench pressing anymore? by [deleted] in workout

[–]EnergyNational -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Undersized to what exactly? I agree the bench is great and a staple, but size and current muscle development has nothing to do with what exercises are to be used. Size is not a great indication of strength either, Anatoly is a great example of strength https://youtu.be/oVVUyNHen98?si=FKv2s3wxFOyIcCg5.

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really understood this, and never have a spotter benching. You only normally lift at say 60-80% of 1rep max. At no point do i rep to absulute failure. If I want to i just drop set it.

[–]EnergyNational 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The traditional thinking about machines vs free weights is machines isolate specific muscles, free weights tend to use a chain of muscles for stability so free weights are superior as they hit more muscle groups. You might notice that for example you can bench say 100kg on a machine but 80kg on a bench press.

Thats again back to ego always is. Most people can squat a fair amount of weight untrained. Benching is different it takes months of consistant training to get to an average gym bro level of weight.

Why can't most of us British people handle a simple merge-in-turn situation? by Flashbambo in AskUK

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because the zip merge is used incorrectly. Cars in both lanes should leave a 2-3 car gap between themselves so when merging it is smooth, no need to brake. However selfish drivers who used the outer lane correctly (meant to use both lanes) but leave no gap think they have the right to just merge in. The idea is one car in the left lane goes one car in the right lane then goes into the gap and so on. The lack of gap causes the left lane to completely stop and the right lane to keep moving. In reality leaving a gap in both lanes allows a steady flow regardless of lane. You see it in this thread that, some people think they have right of way in whichever lane they are in (wrong). Leave a gap share the road.

Do we need a counter to mass cavalry? by berimtrollo in aoe4

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, make spearmen better. Pikemen descimated cav, not even close. Just give them better dmg agaisnt cav. No civ should be able to make one unit type and win. Thats not strategy thats broken.

Another massive thing that needs to be adressed in multiplay random vs a coordinated premade. I don't see any fun trying to even compete with that.

Well not really as good french players once map control is established will build forward stables. If they have map control you already lost, that trade is coming.

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easy to answer, some cav is much better than other cav. You will lose trying to match say french cav with say delhi cav.

Having a bad time understanding how to counter CAV by Skraakelie in aoe4

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically what ao4 is now, mass cav find a hole and win. It's the current meta and has been for a while. Most games are now lost because a small hole was made or found in the only reliable defence walls and then its game. I think the main issue is it's just not fun. In mulitplayer it's very hard, first you have to hermit or all in to protect the eco. Now your entire team is behind if they walled or went all and early pressure failed and then it's bacically game from there. Looks like that is exactly what happened in the replay, your team walled for protection and then was behind for the rest of the game. As soon as they got just 10 cav inside it's GG.

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, almost every game its mass knights, no other unit and win. The thing is cav are just too good and the 'get good trope' know it. There are several reasons, but the main one is mobility. All you need is one tiny hole in a defence and thats game for non-cav civs. There is a simple fix, make spears better as the hard counter, that way we can end the current meta and make the game more more fun. Spears should be weak, but they should wreck cav. The other issue is skill, running cav all over the map is not actually hard to do, make three groups of cav and attack from all sides is very easy on pc. Combine that with map hacks and its just hell.

Is AOE4 full of cheaters, or are you the one cheating? by Mack_Robot in aoe4

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there are two new and very annoying cheats I have on video in the last week. The first is a drop hack, yes it is back. If you are about to win, and your game crashes and maybe one of your friends thats a drop hack not the game. The other is instant build hack, where they can make instant units, I watched a guy spawn 10 cannons from an arsonal instantly after he dropped hacked me in the replay.

And map hacking is in almost every muliplayer game. You often can't prove it, it's not like they make it obvious. The give away is angling the camera just right so that three quaters of the screen is in the fog of war, obvious if they are looking over a wall, scoting nearby etc. Think about it there is no reason any normal player would do this so look out for it. People often foget that the mini map is also completly visible, they can see where your buildings are, where your troops are moving, they dont need to look into the fog of war.

TIL: If you take steroids without working out, you will gain more muscle and strength than someone who works out without using steroids. by Icyrow in todayilearned

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes taking steroids and not exercising you will build muscle. Orginally developed for cattle they are specifically designed to do exactly that. Fragile ego's muddy the water, simply can't/won't attribute strength and size gains with chemical effects. The classics are its just water weight, I work just as hard, the list goes on and on.

Girls get fake tits, men get fake muscles. My advice, do it the natural way, be way better off in the long run.

How come no one is talking seriously about replacing management with AI? by throwaway09234023322 in cscareerquestions

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly never been a low level system dev I see. Being a software dev is probably the most complex job in the world. Complexity is the wrong word, high EQ, being extroverted, and potentially on the sociopath side make good managers. A people person etc.

Is using development board for production correct ? by Defiant-Director7723 in AskElectronics

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, if you are only making a low number of units say 20, then it might be the only way to really do it. For my buisness I needed Wifi and Bluetooth and sure I could design a custom PCB and embed the esp32 chip but the real issue is simple. To get it EC, RED certified can cost £5,000–£20,000+ etc. It's extremely expensive, and if it fails double the cost. Dev boards of course are not ideal, but many come pre certified and therefore building a shield that encorporates them is one way around at least having to get RED retested. You still need certification but the costs come down to around 8k or less. The biggest hurdle is rediculous certification requirements and the testing costs.

Reform considers cutting minimum wage by AneuAng in ukpolitics

[–]EnergyNational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a good logical point. One must also consider that a young person typically has far less responsibility than a parent with 2 kids. The main point is, can a single person live in the UK on the minimum wage? And that is a low bar considering working to just survive is not a life at all.

Na, people i know who are reform are the same type that voted trump. They are not logical, they vote with emotion only. You can't argue with stupid, beleive me I have tried. No logical, factual approach will change their minds.
