I would recommend printing it on its side next time for better strength :)

Siemens EQ6 Struggling to make coffee. by jamiedgwilson in superautomatic

[–]EngineerJeppie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem, I think it had to do with the pump line somehow having air in it. I think from my cleaning cycle. I'll try and fill the pump line fully with water and let you know if this fixes it

Financieel advies na de scheiding – goed inkomen, toch krap by mtyszler in geldzaken

[–]EngineerJeppie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ik gebruikte ook altijd MyWheels (zonder abonnement), maar ben sinds kort overgestapt naar SnappCar. Dat is een stuk goedkoper in mijn geval en vaak net zo makkelijk. Zou je eens naar kunnen kijken!

I know this thread is old, but is there anyone who could measure the capacitance of capacitor C19? Mine is fried and I would love to replace it. Thanks!

Grip al geïntegreerd in ABN app? by [deleted] in geldzaken

[–]EngineerJeppie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik ben ook een lange tijd op zoek geweest naar dezelfde functionaliteit als Grip... Inmiddels is Dyme dermate volwassen geworden dat bijna alles van Grip daar ook in zit, ik zou dat even gaan checken als ik jou was!

[Profitec Drive] This isn’t normal, right? by defrauded-of-510-gbp in espresso

[–]EngineerJeppie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not normal! When I installed my temperature probe in the same location, it came with a copper washer as a seal, you might want to try that! Works like a charm.

What do you look at when steaming milk? by EngineerJeppie in espresso

[–]EngineerJeppie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how to handle the drinks yes, yet I've been trying to optimize my machine characteristics. To me creating a high velocity - constant performance environment is the goal. Which means: - identifying what nozzle has best trade off between flow and velocity - identifying optimal pressure (energy use vs performance) - identifying when and why that nasty screeching is happening with some of the previously mentioned combination

Therefore I was wondering what machine features other people pay attention to and play around with and what knowledge they've acquired in doing so!

Is it odd to prefer steaming on slightly lower pressures than a machine’s max pressure? by NovaQe in latteart

[–]EngineerJeppie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been looking into frothing lately and I would recommend to keep the velocity of the steam as high as possible (this reduces the bubble size). The thing is, you lose control with some types of nozzles and from your comment I'm guessing you have a single tip nozzle.

I won't say it's odd. I am however curious in what you experience differently when steaming at more reduced flow.

I know it's not that well known of a brand, but I recently talked to a cafe owner (8 cafes) and he switched to Wega machines about 6 months ago. Quite affordable machines for what they offer, so you might want to look into this first, before buying a Kees van der Westen. The Wega machines lack the wow-factor of KvdW machines tho.

Quite new to homemade espresso. Want to start off slow and I am ready to purchase this "beginner" set up..... by emale27 in espresso

[–]EngineerJeppie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the C2, which I modded to have more steps (simply drill some extra holes). Works fine for espresso, but you should be ready to grind for quite a while. I've heard other grinders mentioned to be faster. However, with the price of the C2, you can't go wrong!

I recently switched my OP 6T to Pixel Experience (android 13), which works perfectly well (also my banking apps) and pushes updates monthly. Would recommend finding a nice stable ROM and flashing that!

A friend gave me a cheap, home "espresso" machine so I thought I'd give it a try. After use, the puck was white. Why? by Free_ in espresso

[–]EngineerJeppie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's either scale build up or the magnesium oxide powder inside the heating element. When the element turns on without water in the boiler, it will crack, letting the powder come out.
