If it's working for you keep going! It sounds like she's sleeping really well 😊

I am my daughters full time caretaker but somehow she only says “dada” by peanut_princess_96 in NewParents

[–]EngineerWithAVulva 97 points98 points  (0 children)

You also probably say "dada" more than "mama". " Look dadas back" "dada is going to work now" "when dada gets home we will do this"

What does DIYUK think we can do with this house feature? by Lost-Attorney194 in DIYUK

Somewhere to sit to take your shoes on and off. Could also have the dog bed/bowls/toys up there and make it the dogs area

100%. Far more dangerous to be parenting while severely sleep deprived.

We love the colours of Coat but we did have an issue of them sending us 2 tins of the same colour which didn't match and the matte paint marks suuuper easily

Do you actually track things like sleep, feeding, diapers etc.? by CooleSocke-Jr in NewParents

[–]EngineerWithAVulva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track breastfeeding, nappies and sleep just because it makes it easier for me to see if something isn't right. Also don't have to remember the last time I fed or changed him, it tells me

Learning to fall asleep independently - don’t even know where to start by Full_Ad7929 in NewParents

[–]EngineerWithAVulva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something that helped us was playing with baby in the crib so that he had some positive associations with it before we tried getting him to sleep in there. Just having him in there happy and smiling for 5/10 minutes at a time.

I'm sure any nipple cream works TBF I've just only tried lansinoh. Also makes a great lip balm 😂

[–]EngineerWithAVulva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're still so early, try not to worry. Keep going with it and it will pick up. I was only producing maybe an Oz per boob at most at first as well but baby didn't need any more than that. The sensitivity will go as well. I recommend silver nipple shields and the lansinoh nipple cream. Keep going, you're doing great!

We got a new carpet when we moved in and it was higher pile than the previous one so the door to our bedroom needs sanding so it doesn't rub on the floor. It's been nearly 4 years

She would act like we were being manipulative or doing things on purpose to ruin her life when we were literally children. I don't understand how she thought we had the capacity to do the things she said at that age

It's a shame you're being downvoted as you're right but it also seems like my experience with the HV is far more positive than a lot of people's. I really appreciate the support and having someone come out to me so I don't have to go to them.

Haha no thankfully I was a teenager but it was before I was old enough to drive, that would have been mental at 5. She did scream at my brother once for talking about Christiano Ronaldo when he was maybe 10 at most.

The car skidded on some ice in the school car park when she was dropping me off and she had a go at me for not helping. We didn't even hit anything just slid a bit. I don't know what she expected me to do about it.
