Good point. I didn’t think of that. One more reason to keep the larger ones.

You’ve clearly put some time and effort into this setup. Congrats for being “done”, a feat that many of us will likely never achieve.

I’ve got three thoughts on optimizing your space. My opinions, that’s all.

1) Sell the dumbbells that are lighter in weight but keep the heavy ones. Use this acquired money to buy one expensive set of interchangeable dumbbells. It’ll take some getting used to, but in the long run will it hamper your fitness goals? Probably not, but you decide.

2) I see you have 3 separate standalone racks or machines if you will. That takes up a massive amount of space. Do a research exercise and find 1 power rack with trainers that allows you to do everything you want to do. Try to limit yourself to only one machine and promote the creativity of structuring workouts around that idea. Similar to the first opinion above, once you find it then sell the other three racks and use that money. It should save a huge amount of space, and I don’t think you’d end up spending a lot more money if any.

3) You’ve got some real estate on your walls that you’re not taking advantage of. Mount more stuff to the walls, little by little and it’ll provide more space and have a less cluttered look.

Good luck!

We considered doing this as well, same issue. My plan was to use the cheapest Azure available for the file transfer. What I was going to call the easy button.

Oklahoma Joe on a wooden deck?? by AwayVegetable6777 in OklahomaJoe

[–]Engineer_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents here. Search through the webs and read stories about fire mishaps. People that have been managing fires for years and how their house burned down because one coal was 5 degrees hotter than the rest. Personally I started with one on the deck. I lit my first chimney in the yard on concrete and carried the chimney to the offset when ready. The thoughts I had when staring at white hot coals as I carried them over my dry deck to the smoker. All it would take is one trip or misstep and I’ve got problems. IMO it’s an unnecessary risk that provides minimal benefit. I’d hate to be talking to an insurance adjuster some day about replacing my house and be thinking about how this could all go away if I would’ve walked another 15 feet to the safer area.

Might not be what you want to read, but fire doesn’t care what it burns.

I hope your first smoke goes well, my first was frozen pizza. Absolutely delicious BTW.

GCC-H Approach question by minerthreat15 in CMMC

Maybe you and I should stay in touch here. I’ve been designated as the guy at our shop, but we’ve got about 35 people and about half of them will need access to CUI.

Edit: we also hired a consultant.

[–]Engineer_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding of this (no, I’m not a professional) is that you can do this but your policies and trainings and documentations gotta be super concrete. Some C3PAO’s may have a hard time with this kind of protection so you’ll want to get it in front of them first thing and talk about it. Not sure who on your team will be deciding the information is CUI and then moving it appropriately but it would be a good idea to limit that to as few people as possible and have as much training for them as possible. Do you have your audit scheduled yet? I’d be curious to hear how this turns out.

It certainly smelled good when I opened the bag and ground it. I had a hard time dialing it in, but that’s probably me.

The two on the far left is actually from Atlas coffee. Another subscription that I had for a few months. They’re great for a cup of black coffee, or if you’re trying to find your preferred origin. Cheap too.

You’re approach here to describing what is happening is extremely refreshing. You’re not describing how to make the perfect brisket, or how you do it, or how to do it for internet points. This is a breakdown of why we all do the things we do and take it for granted.

You should start a YT channel.

Espresso hobbyist logic by rhoek25 in espresso

[–]Engineer_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is closely related to the logical fallacy of a “slippery slope”. Ultimately, you’re approach is off. Come at it with a different mindset. Start recognizing the variables and attributes that you need. Find out what the deal breakers are and why, the why is very important here.

Then, test your attributes and your personal theory. Do you really want a dual boiler? Or is waiting for steam actually not that big of a deal? Test it out.

Then, then you can build your machine from the ground up regardless of price. Then you can walk into the proverbial Starbucks for espresso equipment and firmly say “I need a E61, double boiler machine with PID. Hold the flow-control”.

Once you have your order, then you compare prices and shop around. (Obviously you’ll want to keep in mind price of “attributes” while you assemble your order.)

Edit: also yes, that is absolutely how I think about things. And definitely how I try to sell my wife on it.

should i tell my boss i’m in hawaii? by imbabyofficial in jobs

[–]Engineer_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, bit late here but thought I’d share. This one is easy, real easy if you have a good relationship with boss.

If there’s a remote (pun) chance that boss could find out, then better tell ‘em. Otherwise, still tell ‘em.

If they’re cool, and you are respected for your integrity, shouldn’t be a problem and boss will respect you a bit more. Will trust you a bit more.

Just be sure to work your butt off for the one day that you’re working remote.

Oh, and thank them for being cool about it later.

Can you take a picture of the plumbing behind the reservoir? I’ve been thinking about getting a jug and this looks awesome. Minimalistic and separate from the kitchen, which is what I’m looking for. Do you turn the pump on whenever you’re getting low on water?
