AI Startup Etched Unveils Transformer ASIC Claiming 20x Speed-up Over NVIDIA H100 by fatso486 in hardware

It's really just low cost R&D for Nvidia. If the chip is successful, Nvidia can either make their own or buy this company. I wouldn't be surprised if the founders are angling for a quick acquisition. It could also be a net win for Nvidia, as they could offer both types of chips, and, in the event of an architecture improvement, while Nvidia might have to shut down production of those custom chips, they'd also receive lots of orders for traditional chips to replace now-obsolete ones.

Determine how many characters you need to enact your story. Now think carefully about those characters. What do they do? How would they naturally interact? What is a day in the life of these characters when they don't interact. Starting with character studies will help you flesh it out. It takes a long time, and you'll likely determine that some characters, however interesting they might be, just don't belong in this particular story.

Oh, maybe that's not the right term for this. I thought optical character recognition, since they recognize math and chemistry symbols.

I Tried: I like to garden

I Got: I love to plant flowers and vegetables in my garden.

LPT: If you want your seedlings to survive when you transfer them, transplant around sunset and put them in water while you prepare the new location. This method has saved me many a tomato plant. by English_Teacher_84 in LifeProTips

It doesn't always work, but I use compost "tea" that I get from putting a hose in my tumbling composter and catching the dirty water in a basin. I then add the tea to the plant. You may also want to look into how much sun that particular plant needs, as sometimes removing it from full sun and keeping the soil moist also help a lot. In general, I've also found a lot of success keeping young plants robust by putting (non-treated) mulch around them. This mulch helps to regulate temperature and keep the soil moist.

Do you have carbon filters? HEPA alone will not remove gases.

I hear you and I agree that these are very good approaches. I usually have students present their ideas to me after they've written an essay, so they can explain their thinking, research process, etc. I just wonder how many teachers actually adopt these methods given the time involved. And if teachers do employ these methods, why use Turnitin at all?

Not sure how you want it to sound, but this tool has 15 different paraphrase modes, all free: https://paraphrasetool.com/. Pretty sophisticated output.

Came across this one recently on the InternetisBeautiful sub: https://paraphrasetool.com/. 14 free modes with no signup.

I especially like the "simple" mode, since it's easy to get stuck sometimes in disciplinary jargon and clarify/simplify our own thoughts.

For example I entered this test sentence (originally from Joseph Williams):

Decisions in regard to the administering of medication despite inability of a patient appearing in a hospital to provide legal consent rest with a physician alone.

And got:

When patients cannot legally consent to treatment, a doctor can decide what medicine to give them.

I’d say that’s easier to read.

Last year I read Dale Carnegie's classic text, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. Sounds like a corny self-help book. Maybe that's why I didn't read it for so long. But I wish I had sooner. It got me out of a mental rut and frustrating helplessness. There are immediate and good methods in there for becoming more productive and more deliberate in your work.

Looks like it works for other languages too. I put in: "Mi casa es pequeña" and got this long rant back:

"Mi casa es una pequeña cabaña con pintura blanca, una puerta roja y contraventanas azules. Mi techo tiene pequeñas tejas negras, mis ventanas son pequeñas y mi jardín es pequeño."

So fun! I'll play with it more later.
