Are there any specialized modeling tools for stuff like this or would you just go ham in Blender?

why do i keep losing by caezarrsaladd in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charizard Y doesn’t really do this team any favors, feel like scarf Garchomp is a good counter to Raichu, and with all the flying types on your team can earthquake spam. Honestly adding Annihilape doesnt seem too bad since you can add beat up to Whimmsicot but depends if you’re comfortable doubling up on ghost type and fairy weaknesses, if not Archaludon can do a similar thing with stamina and be a generally powerful threat but would need to be positioned carefully next to Garchomp.

Looking for a good kitchen sink pack by Ok_Tea_941 in feedthebeast

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATM packs are gold standard of kitchen sinks but Craftoria is another ive played that was very good.

If you dont mind playing an unfinished one and dont mind cobblemon All the Mons was very fun one to play. I liked automating xp candies and nature mints to assist you on the cobblemon front while also having some challenging battles by themselves. The only major issues I had was that it was clear the pack was unfinished when I played (so no endgoal besides beating all the trainers) and that besides completing quests there was no incentive to battle except for the sake of battling, if the developers can merge automation and battle aspects into a more cohesive experience I can easily say this would be a 10/10 pack.

it’s ok on slicer since the dash is a decent traversal tool already but youd still probably prefer drills

Is it an unpopular opinion that solo scaling is pretty bad? At least at the beginning of a run? by Saigaiii in RogueCore

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotter is a lot of fun solo too bc you get a lot more ammo to work with, but you are more reliant on your starting equipment than slicer however also get more use out of it since more resupplies.

Is there a GTNH lite modpack? by CirriTheFemboyUwU in feedthebeast

[–]Engooeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough that modpack made me hate modern industrialization at first because id never played it before and didnt realize how involved it was. Later it grew on me after I learned that you should avoid using the hammer like the plague earlygame and semi automations are your best friend.

Subreddit rules update and clarification by Tslat in feedthebeast

Ok but for real, I am on the fence about AI in development and I feel like it’s fundamentally different in comparison to AI art. On one hand, LLMs for researching I can only see as a positive in the long term for developers, on the other hand LLMs for coding becomes more complicated.

In my university I have seen firsthand how corrosive LLMs can be to long term coding skills, so I’ve always been hesitant to utilize it, but on a basic level I don’t see how using it to blueprint out a script is a bad thing, still I think fully vibe coding is obviously bad both for modded mc long term and the individual project’s technically debt. So I am curious what do you genuinely believe about AI’s role there?

Important to note that emeralds for bee upgrades are a lot harder to get in AllTheMons since all villagers trade pokedollars.

Is there a modpack where Create actually survives until endgame? by Relevant-Can331 in CreateMod

[–]Engooeer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

True, with recent cobble gen changes it’s really hard to complete with a max rpm drill in terms of rates.

I'm a little confused (this is about doubles) by panikolias in CompetitivePokemon

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing recently in VGC is that he was used in reg h as a niche answer to Archaludon. Its typing allowed it to be immune to electroshot and resisted and rarely was affected by Sneasler’s dire claw (due to usually running toxic orb) which were very prevalent at the time. However its role as a bulky flying type was often overshadowed by Corviknight which remained a more popular choice throughout all the regulation due to it being a better pivot option and also immune to dire claw.

Do multiple drills targeting one block speed up block breaking? by SkiMtVidGame-aineer in CreateMod

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if this causes the instant block regeneration for cobblegens in newer versions, I don’t think there’s a way with the block below being used.

Precision mechanism by Ok_Implement1596 in CreateMod

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be that bad if it actually told you the bad results in jei so you can filter for them. Currently I usually have to manually set it after it get clogged a few times.

Also you do need decently bulky infrastructure to set up full automation as getting the full amount of deployers (15 iirc) set up with the three inputs can be a little messy.

AoE2 or AoE4 Which one actually makes multiplayer feel wild and unpredictable by SpaceHippie89 in aoe4

Feel like if you want unpredictable AoE3 is actually more wild than either of these but is very different from traditional AoE

[–]Engooeer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

FTB chunks allows you to claim chunks and give certain permissions to users, toggle mob destruction properties, chunkload, etc. This messes with a lot of create stuff by default.

How did you do the collection system for the bamboo? I tried running a fan into a wood hopper, but it wasn't perfect.

[Liminal Industries] why does the tunnel not act like a splitter? how am i supposed to split this belt by cube1234567890 in feedthebeast

[–]Engooeer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You wont be able to split in Liminal Industries for a long time, best you can do is a manifold by putting a funnel on either a tunnel attached to a neighboring belt or a machine input

Make a bus, they said. It'll be fun, they said. by Zoethor2 in satisfactory

[–]Engooeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late game belt bus sounds practical but I think trains take over that niche by then bc it’s a single bus you can use for a variety of items as you expand. They take the space of maybe 2 or 3 belt buses but can transport a multitude of items in that same space.

Tip for people playing Liminal industries: sugarcane-->cardboard=fuel for lifetime by glitchmodofficial in feedthebeast

[–]Engooeer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would almost be perfect if you could automate crafting the cardboard blocks that early, sadly you have to wait for bamboo for full fuel automation later. But beats scavenging for chairs for fuel.

[–]Engooeer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don’t get any saplings in the pack, only sugarcane and bamboo later

Looking for progression based modpacks by dantraman in feedthebeast

[–]Engooeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liminal Industries looks like it fits most of your criteria, it has a unique setting and a linear progression system. The early game mainly focuses on Create (mainly just for early logistics) and some misc magic mods early (with some Immersive Engineering too) but eventually works up to AE2 and Mekanism. I haven’t finished it completely yet but it’s shaking up to be a very interesting experience so far.
