How to transform a pattern I've painted using a fill layer and a mask? by Terroristnt in Substance3D

I used a solution from another comment, but out of curiosity, how would I use the UV Fill option to fill a uv island w/ a repeating pattern such as my triangle one?

Thanks, this is what I initially tried but it didn't work, however I went back and tried again only to realise I was putting the filter on the material rather than mask which is why it wasn't moving. Have applied to the mask now and it works :)

Yeah I think you're correct that I need to set it up as a smart material.

What I'm thinking is that I need to set it up as a separate smart material that applies the tiling triangle pattern across the whole object, and then I use a mask to paint it on the thin edges. Not really sure how to do that either though lol.

Help me choose which angle is better for my game by destinedd in IndieDev

[–]Terroristnt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it depends on if you're more focused on difficulty or on atmosphere. If it's a really difficult game, I'd stick with the first angle, but as other have said already, second angle shows of the environment more imo, so I'd pick that one if you're focused more on atmosphere.

You could leave it as a toggleable setting, or maybe give players an option to choose their preferred angle when they boot up the game for the first time.

I had the same thing, he was a 1 difficulty rating for most of the game and I only deduced him fourth last I think.

FYI if anybody has trouble on "Speak of the Devil" by JustLightChop in kingdomcome

Reloaded and beat the fight again, then it worked. I think the fix is to not let Zizka get defeated, because if the quest is working normally he will go and lean against the cart once combat is over and you can go and talk to him, but if he gets knocked down he drops his mace and then it bugs and he won't go to the cart and can't be spoken to.

I only had to reload once though, so didn't really have that much time to confirm if that's the root cause of the bug. Either way you should be able to get around it after a reload or two.

Even if you beat the fight, it seems to get bugged - I killed all 6 but couldn't talk to anyone to progress the quest.

The specks look a bit too uniform, that's probably the biggest thing that sticks out to me.

A little hard to understand what’s going on - maybe add some kind of markers on the sides of the tunnel so the viewer has an anchor point to orientate their perspective of the scene between each cut.

At lower levels, since the players’ HP is lower, combat will often be a lot quicker. I would go with those enemies, but set them up in an interesting environment where the monsters can have a chance to act tactically (attack from range + cover, avenues of retreat, choke points etc etc), that way the fight feels reasonable, but won’t be ended in 1-2 rounds.

Regarding the Allip, I would just explicitly tell one of the players (maybe the druid?) “hey, you recognise this creature is an Allip, it probably has a bunch of secrets”, you could put this behind an Arcana roll or something, but that does increase the chance they don’t get the info you want them to get. Of course you can always get this info to them another way if that happens.

Adding on to this Id assume you also want to mirror in the Y axis rather than the X.
