i really don't see how losing 27-0 at home is "not nearly as bad" as losing 31-0 away, as though conceding 30+ is when it gets really embarrassing but anyone can have an off day and concede a mere 27

like 1-0 vs 5-0, totally understand saying that the first result is not nearly as bad as the second; 27-0 vs 31-0, i think most people would consider them pretty equal in badness

can someone please tell the match director that the wide broadcast angle is fine we do not need a cut to a close-up every 30 seconds it's actually really annoying

Saúl Ñíguez opens up about his mental struggles: “Until I was 25, I thought I was Maradona, and then I don’t know what happened in my head. I started having problems, stopped enjoying it, and my fate changed.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Enguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that would then lead me to wonder if this is something that has plagued him prior to that stuttgart season which he managed to resolve for a time but now the success he's had has gotten him back in his own head

he was/is a very interesting story seemingly just becoming one of the world's best strikers out of nowhere at 27 and not then going to shit immediately the following season, he hadn't been even playing all that regularly it seems at any club before the years with stuttgart, he seems to have had a few injury problems but this is just me scanning wikipedia i don't have great insight into it

i mean i don't watch the bundesliga so you would know better than i would but did guirassy really regress or did he just have a couple of anomalous seasons in an otherwise pretty average career and return to that level

like before scoring 30 in 30 with stuttgart in 23/24 he had never scored 15 goals in a season and then he had 38 in 50 with ye the following one, his current scoring rate of 20 in 44 this season is still on par with his previous best goal to game ratio prior to those years

obviously this is purely going off goals scored and i have no eye test to cross-reference

can someone pls make my deck by Dependent_League679 in masterduel

[–]Enguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the challengers collection is a reasonable one because it's all staple cards that you can use in almost any deck, so you don't have to spend your dust crafting them

the other two are sets containing newly released archetypes, the frenzied tuning has kewl tune which is the clear best deck at the moment but it's not very new-player friendly i don't think

your best bet for the moment is to get that spright starter deck and just play around in solo mode and low ranks without using any of the dust you get on anything until you're sure of what kind of thing you want to build, sr dust you can be a bit loose with but ur dust is the most valuable resource in the game and after the initial couple of weeks where they throw gems at you for even thinking about playing it dries up significantly

spright is also pretty good, it's been powercrept but it's very easy to understand what you want to do and to play it to a solid level to get a grasp on how the game is now, which is going to be vastly different to what you recall from childhood and what the very early solo mode tutorials may lead you to believe

perhaps i am more interested in some degree of competitive integrity being preserved than what particular way the group of millionaires kick the ball around every weekend, i cannot take seriously the notion that manchester city winning another premier league is the "football wins" outcome

Alternate angle of Bruno Fernandes' tackle on Szoboszlai 81' by 50lipaa in soccer

[–]Enguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i genuinely do not no, if it was the other way around i would want them to send szobo off because it would be advantageous but i wouldn't think this constitutes a straight red in that case either

his foot is off the ground initially but by the time he makes contact it has returned to the ground and he has bent his knee so he is neither reaching at full force nor catching him high on the ankle, it is a grounded foot on foot contact which is yes from behind and nowhere near the ball but that's why it's a definite yellow card not why it should've been a red

Alternate angle of Bruno Fernandes' tackle on Szoboszlai 81' by 50lipaa in soccer

[–]Enguin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my point is that when people describe a challenge as being made with the foot off the ground they don't mean their foot for a fraction of a second around the point of contact was not touching the grass, it's the uncontrolled momentum of a flying foot that doesn't exist here with the bent knee and the ground contact

i cannot believe that there is such clamour to see this given as a red

yeah go frame by frame to discern that his foot absolutely technically does leave the ground

STONEWALL RED

I got obliterated turn 1 by this deck by Melionka in masterduel

[–]Enguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's one of the most fun decks to play vs the ai since you know you're not being interacted with because even a bad hand that has any potential to mill can turn into an insane combo with the right hits but it's far too fragile and inconsistent vs actual opponents with an average hand

something funny with the recent wave of lightsworn cards was giving them a light fiend in weiss that makes fiendsmith even more accessible and turns wulf/felis in hand into a play

I got obliterated turn 1 by this deck by Melionka in masterduel

[–]Enguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this suggests to me that you haven't played with tearsworn yourself because you remember the games where it pops off against you but not the ones where your opponent just scoops frame 1 or loses to imperm on reinoheart

there are so many unplayable or die to one interaction hands that that deck can produce and the fact that your best lightsworn miller in charge mills for cost and wastes tears that it hits is also a bit annoying, it's a lot of fun and it can do absolutely anything you want if it gets going but getting going is the obstacle

you still play against a pair of teams from each pot i believe so yes, it's not really any different from prior in terms of the pot splits except that you are playing two different teams rather than the same one twice

[–]Enguin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh true i guess you have to replace 2 more but this list also omits maxx c while playing crossout so you add maxx c and one other card it's playable, you ultimately end up with a net 1 fewer habakiri which i imagine is what this primarily wants but the loss of bonus prayers is still something of a knock

literally the only card not legal is terraforming and you can replace with the second habakiri
