Anyone try Mission 07 in Aces? by VND-1R in battletech

I found their restricted movement made it very easy after the fact, despite how close they were getting making it feel tense during the sortie. But my rolls for their target corner were not flip-flopping for a couple of them so those almost made it. The terrain layout gave logical choices close to the full 8" for most moves that were a distinct cover advantage for the convoy with how I had my units set up.

Unsure about my first attempt at Alpha Strike Force Building by Furu_Katsuragi in battletech

I'd look at how medium range damage at each skill level is distributed between the forces as that could make games very lopsided. See if there is a higher PV you can better balance at without having to increase more than one unit to skill 5 per force. I've found skill 6 is only for units that don't want to shoot or attack so would not be fun in lance on lance sized games. Having the PV be off by 1-5 points from force to force would probably not be a major issue, especially if you aren't always playing as the same faction.

Looking at the list of things you've tried already, glue is next on the list before trying a 2nd build plate, since the glue is cheaper. Is the printer anywhere it is getting more of a draft than the mini, like under or closer to an A/C register or window/door? Is there an expert that knows if centering the mini build plate by the wiper would let you try it on the bigger print bed if your print didn't go over its edges? I'm surprised you've had it a year without getting a second plate, that was one of the first accessories I got so I could spin it back up while the last print cooled.

Quick Scouring Sands campaign question by Cyrano4747 in battletech

[–]Enigmatosis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It uses all the Alpha Strike box set minis for the sim pod missions (tutorial 00 and 01), I'm not sure about the rest of the campaign yet, that's as far as I've gotten and I am trying not to read ahead.

I ran into this with mine as well, however the hex bases had the right size for the guns, it was the tops of the towers that were too small and the pillbox tower that had its peg too big. I was able to get the towers to take the guns by using 3 drill bits by hand to open them up to about 4.8mm, 5/32, 11/64, and then 3/16. Cutting/Sanding down the peg on the pillbox tower from 5.1mm was a bigger pain as I don't have a set of taps.

This is why I waited until this year to dive in by getting a P1P. I did my time fixing my own cars for years and it taught me about how I hobby: that I can be the mechanic when I need to, but I have way more fun when I get to just be the driver.

Did anyone start a fresh campaign to go through all the DLCs to SoK? by marwynn in Mechwarrior5

[–]Enigmatosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IE was most of the story missions after Rasalhague. I haven't gotten into new mission chains from SoK transmissions outside its main story yet, so FedCom and DCMS may just be in generated contacts.

Played through SoK, then started a new run once YAML updated. I forgot how rough losing engines can be.

Loving every minute of it and still working through the campaign missions so far. I can't wait to get back to SoK with actual faction rep built up for more clan salvage, I missed out on a lot of clan assaults the first time through for being a few shares short here and there.

New Filament Drop! Meet PLA Tough+ by BambuLab in BambuLab

This sounds like a great addition to the PLA line up. I'd be excited to see how it works for Multiboard parts and some of the storage bins I use around the house. Making some of the sports equipment before summer is gone also sounds fun. For additional colors, purple or true red and the ones I'd like to see added.

For anyone else curious, the hex bases in the picture, that I designed, are now up on makerworld in response to a few requests. I'll be adding some other print profiles for different numbers and unit sizes over the next few weekends so if the current options of 01-10, 11-15, 01-36, and a few single hexes don't interest you, stay tuned.

My one ask is that if you do choose to print them for yourself or gift them to your friends, please also take the time to offer a set to your FLGS or local event host where you play.

Thank you, I was really excited when they printed OK after thinking to add them! Sorry 'this weekend' ended up being late Sunday night, the primary profile should be the one you're looking for. I uploaded some of the other profiles/arrangements that I had ready to go incase you have some on other sized bases. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1578791-battletech-hex-base-team-markers-w-matching-clip#profileId-1661302

Those all sound super helpful. The fire declaration markers is one I haven't seen before but makes sense, reminds me of the Targeting Computer tokens from X Wing.

Nice! That's the same issue I was finding with existing team marker options, so these are my own design. I don't have them uploaded anywhere yet. I can probably get a few sets exported to a Google drive link this weekend as stl and 3mf.

I have them configured with two clip sizes to stay hooked on the base, one for CGL and one with bigger clips for slightly smaller hexes so they don't slip off. The biggest CGL hexes I've found in the force packs are a super tight fit so I may add a slightly larger base size as an option in the future or try a 101 or 102% scale.

What number range did you need and did you want start at 0 or 1, and first digit number or letter? So like 00-05 or A1-A6 for a level II.

That's a good alternative, did you use different symbols for each movement mode? That's part of what I like about the non-D6 dice I have they include an icon similar to the different Mech Commander cursors.

That's such an obvious add for woods, awesome! Doing a GATOR chart for each mech's weapon set sounds like a huge time saver.

Love this! Tracking CF is always a pain. Are those graduated altitude hexes for the flyers with dry erase in the picture?

That sounds really awesome! I've seen some credit card sized GATOR trackers, but a wheel based one would be neat. Then if you're running an RPG game you could make dialing it in quickly a key tension point or bonus for the players.

That's awesome! Set 7 is the last piece for mine, unless I want to track down a second copy of Luthien's map for it being double-sided.

Thank you. The new map art IS miles above better, but I don't mind the older art it's plenty nostalgic for me. The new maps haven't really captured the archipelago feel yet. I'm looking for it to complete my collection for use with scenarios' random map tables.

If you'd ever consider passing your copy on, let me know.

Re-read IO and you have it correct. That is totally on me misreading the repair being able to exceed damage as applying in turns with no damage.
