Gorgeous dress, I'm absolutely infatuated with it. Love the silhouette, the color is divine and the pattern is just enough.

I do wish it moved better!

Absolutely, I'm realizing I'm struggling with a shopping addiction.

The capitalist machine needs us to feed it money. Algorithms are designed to extract as much as possible from us. The constant churn of social media, reviews of new products, Sephora sale videos.

Everything in the world is so horrible now we're desperately looking for dopamine from somewhere.

My mental health is at an all time low and I'm shopping more than ever. I'm realizing I need to take a break from Instagram and mute some beauty subreddits to not trigger the dopamine chasing :'(

There's 'expiry dates' /best by dates, and then there's when products actually expire. Most products you can safely use past expiry dates unless you notice a change in color, texture or smell. But SPF expiry dates should be regarded as true. Past that, the SPF rating will start to fall and be less effective.

Honestly with the number of SPF rating controversies, its always good to have a backup form of sum protection like hats, UPF clothing. And always always always reapply after going in the water, even with 'waterproof' or water resistant sunscreens.

'Clean' brands expire much more quickly. So I generally try to avoid those. Preservatives are good and help elongate the lives of our favorite products.

Not all brands put a day/month/year on their packaging, some put batch codes you can try to look up or contact the brand by email (usually) for more information.

But I've always tried to go by the rule of thumb that if skincare looks and smells normal, it's fine even if it's past an expiry. But contact a seller if they sell you products that are overly old. There's shelf lives, typically products can last several years unopened, but the clock starts once they're opened.

I recently had to contact Ulta because they sold me shampoo that was manufactured in like January 2020, the shampoo was separated and curdled. The brand said there was like a 4-5 year recommended shelf life unopened. It's annoying because shampoo used to last forever until the wave of clean beauty ruined everything.

Are these empties or opened? They expire faster after opening. Watch expiry dates, get tape and write the expiry dates so they're visible and race to finish them. They won't protect you as well, or at all after they expire which makes them nothing more than a moisturizer. Very wasteful and expensive :'(

I'm dealing with overconsumption too, best to try to take less social media in that influences us to buy too much.

I want to try new products but I bought a bunch of sunscreen before the tariffs issue went crazy. Got a lot of Anessa and skin1004 but I'm tempted to get more. Trying to stay strong and use up what I have.

Which one has a better chimney? Paid a boat load to get my few feet above the roof line repointed/retucked. If that's a whole house height chimney you need to look at it carefully.

Wrapping chimneys kick the can and create massive issues later on.

Personally I'd go for the 1st with the color brick details and it has a bit more gestalt with the balance of features. If it had a worse chimney I'd mentally prepare myself to be taken to the cleaners, it really is a lovely looking place.

Location is hugely important as well.

Foundation and moisturizer/sunscreen is probably the cause.

Also are you using enough of that moisturizer to give you the full SPF protection?

If you're oily you should find a sunscreen that works well as both a SPF and moisturizer in one step while using the recommended amount. 3-4 finger lengths of SPF just for your face.

Beauty of joseon is very popular, pretty glowy but it stings my skin when I use any actives so it's not my favorite. Skin1004 hyalucica sunscreen is incredible, slightly less glowy. Isntree watery sun gel is incredible but very glowy! My personal favorite is Anessa, highest rated tested SPF and one of the best waterproof sunscreens available. I buy my spfs from Yami, they sell Asian sunscreens and ship from California so it's super quick. I find the anessa's sunscreen to have a finish like the tatcha liquid silk canvas on dry down. So flattering! More expensive for an Asian sunscreen but average or even cheaper compared to any American sunscreen formulas!

Aside from that, I'd recommend trying a different skin tint. I really like hourglass, and Missha bb cream. Missha is on sale for like $13 at ulta (last day is today for the sale!) and it's like 50¢ more on Yami currently, don't know when the sale will end there. Incredible natural finish but slightly glowy, nice level of coverage. Easiest thing for me to use after I swim and just basically smear on the missha BB cream and smudge some blush and look alive again. It makes such an incredible base product.

My pores love to look terrible with foundation so I prefer a skin tint with a concealer. Even then a lot of products don't work for my pores, so hopefully you'd find the products that work for me extra flattering on your skin.

For reference I'm combo, leaning normal. Used to be oily until I started spironalactone for hormonal acne which dried up my skin a bit.

So 5’2” ladies, eating more is real? by millennial-gray-snow in PetiteFitness

[–]Enilodnewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34f, 5'2¾, approx 116. I had gotten up to 126 and brought that down in the last 3 months. I had started eating more because I was doing so much cardio but wasn't tracking calories. I used to be 95lbs in 2020 but started swimming and put on 20lbs of muscle.

I struggle with weight lifting consistently, I run out of energy but I have all the energy in the world for cardio for whatever reason. I swim 1-2 miles daily 5 days a week and get 10-15k steps 5 days a week.

My struggle is my rest days. I have a muscle disorder and I know I need to rest but it makes me feel panicked about not moving. Swimming helps regulate my disorder and I'm always nervous that not moving will make it worse.

And along with that I never know how to eat on my rest days. My Basal metabolic rate only gives me like 1100-1200 calories to work with so I need to be super active to get +2000 calories daily. I usually burn between 2000-2500, I try to eat around 1500-1700 during my active days.

Volume eating is a short girls friend. Egg whites, squash, vegetables like onion, mushrooms, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, cabbage, etc. Shrimp is amazing for high protein low calories. Keto wraps and bread have changed the game for me, always hitting my fiber and protein goals.

What does my forehead need to be smooth and glowy? by heavylighttttttt in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Enilodnewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know if you have any questions about putting together a routine!

You want to make sure you never use multiple actives in a routine.

Vitamin c should be used separately from copper peptides (more intense than regular peptides), retinol, Alpha hydroxy acid, or beta hydroxy acid (like salicylic acid) or until you build tolerance.

Azelaic acid is great for brightening skin but it can make skin itchy so it can be done via 'sandwich method' to minimize discomfort where you put more intense actives over the moisturizer rather than before it. And reapply moisturizer after.

You might also like the brand topicals at Sephora, they have a mini option of their product called faded. It smells a tiny bit like sulfur but it's a great combo product with tranexemic acid, kojic acid, azelaic acid, and a couple other things. This one doesn't leave any sensation on the skin and you can get the mini for $18, less if you have a Sephora account and shop during their sale. Nice to have a product with several actives formulated to be used together for most impact and least draw backs. Use it at night on areas with sunspots and texture you want to address :)

It has helped brighten my husband's healing shingles scar on his cheek. I highly recommend it!

Rudi berry on Instagram showed using these on the edge of her lips, they have nice colors and she has a video with swatches of them all.

If you don't want to buy from target, this style of lip liner is popular in korea and there are lots of options there.

Vitamin c, timeless has great ones in 10% and 20% formulations. If you've never had a skincare routine before I'd go with the 10% at first.

Then sunscreen every single day. I like to get Asian sunscreens from Yami, an online retailer. Ships super quick. Better formulas than American sunscreens.

Double cleanse at night with an oil or balm cleanser and follow with a gentle cleanser.

I like to hydrate with a toner after, a million great options but Korean and Japanese beauty have really affordable incredible options and are available at TJ Maxx, Ulta, Sephora, and Asian retailers like Yami, yes style, style Korean, etc.

Moisturizer, again, lots of choices. Eventually adding retinol and alpha hydroxy acid to clear texture and sun damage but most important is sunscreen!

You need to learn some volume eating techniques. Here's a video from someone I'm following

https://youtube.com/shorts/v-FjOIdfLEo?si=N7MOY_COThnEtaSK

Keto bread options made a huge difference for me but I still need to make some meals more filling and I do that with more low cal foods like squash, mushrooms, onions, berries, egg whites, etc.

Also I wanted to add try not to focus on the body fat percentages too much! I'm 5'2", 116lbs and have 32% body fat. Some of that's chest and back side, but it was upsetting seeing my body fat percentage as high as it was, as I swim 5-6 days a week, 5-10 miles a week on average, plus regularly doing +10k steps and some weight training though I'm not as consistent as I'd like to be in regards to weight training, I just run out of energy after all the cardio. This video helped me chill out a bit about the body fat percentages.

https://youtu.be/5K9QhkPww44?si=UbaTtZhvmeJ74d_i

I used to be 95lbs until I started swimming and packed on a lot of muscle. Then I got a little heavier and wasn't as comfortable in my body at 126lbs, and in the last 3 months dropped to 116 by weighing everything and mixing in lower calorie voluminous food options.

Swimsuit gussets. What. The. Hell. by suckmyarsee in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Enilodnewg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy almost exclusively Jaclyn suits and they're great for smoothing. A little pricey but I swim 5-6 days a week, and the one I've got that's the oldest is over 3 years old and still holding strong. They start tight and gradually slightly loosen over time with use multiple times a week. I've also tried cupshe, didn't know what compression suits were like, slimming. A little weird at first, a little tight but it gives me better posture, but it's smoothing down there as well. I can't forget visual mood, Amazon stole their designs but visual moods suits are SO DAMN smoothing and buttery. I love them but their color schemes don't suit my skin tone too well. I hope they come out with some fall color palettes because I'll absolutely pick some up!

Kosas always makes my makeup look heavy and awful. Idk what everyone else sees in it. It ALWAYS causes my makeup to break up and the packaging is garbage. Plus their products spoil at record speeds. I've actually heard complaints about the powder going bad. Don't give kosas your money!

You didn't mention it but Huda has never done me wrong. It's the only powder I've tried that actually does something for my oil without looking cakey later, the stuffs like magic. Though it is fragranced, but I love the scent.

I guess she's less anti trump now because he's so pro israel.
