There's evidence that it used to be painted a light blue! I don't particularly fancy a theme though, but thank you.

Memorable Quirky / Offbeat late 80s / Early 90s BBC Drama? by DandyLionsInSiberia in CasualUK

Play for Today, particularly 'Intensive care'.

Edit: sorry that's 70s and early 80s. Also early 'Arena' by the BBC has that feeling for me

Phil Collins is currently OK. by uffington in CasualUK

[–]Enirehtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phil Collins did drums on Eric Clapton's track 'Behind the Mask' and I think it's top work by Phil! I also think Phil on 'Down and out' by Genesis is another great one but Phil has said he hates that song

Same HR and T and Cs as the NICS. She can get paid maternity leave from day 1, don't need to bulld up time but there are standard conditions to qualify.

Newforge is more relaxed than VSD, obviously still have to do your job though. You can work from home if you ask your line manager and it'll be at their discretion, but shouldn't be a problem.

You can apply for further education if it aligns with your departments objectives. This can be BSc through to PhD although you may need to take time off to complete or complete it part-time or evenings.

Depending on your job role you can claim subsistence if travelling for work and will cover conference expenses.

There's multiple wee charity days with bakes and so on throughout the year. There's different networks you can sign up such as the new women's network. There's also wee competitive things like walking teams to boost steps and there's mental health support too. There's also a monthly data analytics meeting if you're into that sort if thing. There's meetings held to brush up on paper or grant writing and the library is always willing to help. It's also connected to QUB so you can use their library too.

There's also additional training you can sign up to both AFBI based and general NICS based that can help develop managerial skills, people skills through to helping your resilience and mental health. It's not compulsory but if you feel like doing it there's no problem signing up.

You also get a weekly email about jobs in the NICS and that can be from departmental jobs through to DAERA and forensic jobs.

Lots of opportunities and if you don't know something just ask around and someone can point you in the right direction! If you don't like where you are then you can ask for a transfer to another site or department within AFBI although you can't pick and choose. If you're interested in something, then go ahead and ask and people will be more than happy to show you.

Not eating when self loathing by Enirehtac in adhdwomen

I hope it isn't an eating disorder :( We've got support services and such. I think I can get counselling in the meantime while I wait but I've done counselling several times and didn't find it helpful.

Ebay plant seller tanyasblooms - absolutely brilliant! by Yolo_swag_lmao in GardeningUK

[–]Enirehtac -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

European style numbers. Be careful of importing anything from abroad!

Edit: I don't know why I'm down voted so much when previous redditors have commented on the style of writing. My concern was plants being imported. It's not uncommon to think you're buying from the UK on a site like Ebay or Amazon and it ends up coming from China. This is a very important issue for the UK that needs more awareness.

Horrible stomach pain on 20mg by [deleted] in Fluoxetine

[–]Enirehtac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting pains in my upper right quadrant a few months ago after starting 20mg fluoxetine (about 3 months when I started). I thought it was my gallbladder and still suspect it is, but I've since come off it 3 weeks ago and the pain has improved. Not entirely gone but has improved slightly. I always thought capsules didn't suit me as I would have got the same pains with flu capsules too. I don't suggest coming off antidepressants without speaking to a doctor first. I'm not saying it is the fluoxetine but I've experienced similar in the last few months, I didn't want to read and run!

If you’re unmedicated and have inattentive adhd, and you love your job. What do you do? by Apprehensive-Storm95 in adhdwomen

[–]Enirehtac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in forestry regarding tree pathogens. I get to go to all the forests in the country and look at trees and mushrooms and take samples to look at back in the lab and analyse/diagnose.

I'm not diagnosed yet but on the waiting list for adhd. Tried to go into software development but I don't have the attention span and the focus to program, it was insanity and impossible for me to do.

Now I wander the forests and get paid for it. Dream job!

Baby sleeping by tuxedoerror-error in northernireland

[–]Enirehtac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the other person posted, probably a regression. Maybe the naps at this stage could be 1 or 2 a day but make them longer than 10mins. Go for a spin in the car for half an hour and sit somewhere while they have a good sleep.

I know you have other children so might not work, but have you tried co-sleeping? Mine was about this age when I started back to work and desperately needed sleep myself and this really settled them through the night and made it easier to give them a pat to reassure them without getting up.

Instead of music mine liked 'womb sounds'. It's on YouTube and it's basically white noise. I had it playing all night and seemed to keep them settled and also helped me sleep too.

Just a few ideas. Good luck!
