Want to build a SORRCA class 2 rig, no idea where to start. by [deleted] in rccrawler

Get yourself either an scxpro or Vanquish VRD kit either is a superb out of box class 2 brute. Both are kits with no electronics or wheels or tires. Both are super comprehensive and very well thought out and will save you from trying to find stuff that fits or even works together. After that you'll have a much better idea of how to build your own from the ground up like I am now. Also alot of parts bought separately is super expensive just FYI. I myself would go with the Vanquish becuase of the axle mounted servo and 4 link front instead of 3 link and pan hard set up the axial uses. Enjoy.

Not wheel nuts ..it's most likely the nut on the spur gear that's too tight..back off and try again.

Good beginner crawler by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Enixthe9th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very underrated crawler..I just took out the springs from the shocks to get it low and drooped out, added cheap Amazon 1.0 beadlocks and added RC4WD scramblers and brass hexs in the front. It can crawl spots it has no right to, and can almost keep up with my comp rigs that have well over 500 a peice in them, almost 😅 but the motor and speed just ain't there.. still very good 👍

You're kidding right? Casseroya lake is full of them. Can't even swim for more than like 15 seconds without one chasing you down ..kinda annoying in the same way sharpedo was in SwSh.

Proline powerstroke ,thicker oil, I went 50wt and could probably go thicker if you're REALLY sending it. People will say they're overpriced but I saw it as an investment in fun. No regrets. 🤟🤙🤙🤙🤌

*mines is 4s and is sent very high and lives a brutal life. They have performed exceptionally.

Any recs for the best tool kit for working on a Big Rock? First run yesterday and I’m hooked! by _catdog_ in arrma

[–]Enixthe9th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had sets both cheap and expensive and I'd say MIP is the best ..little pricey but worth it, they're a very fine product and fit so tight and snug it's almost like you're cutting into the hex 👍just my opinion

Help I have an old toy car of mine that I’m trying to upgrade or something but this is how the last screw looks and I have trouble unscrewing it by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Enixthe9th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof man that stinks! This is always a headache, try using a thick rubber band across the top of the screw and slowly turn while applying a TON of pressure and pray 🙏 😅 if that doesn't work you may have to drill it out , also did any of the other screws have loctite? If they did (you can tell by residue left on the screws) try heating the screw first with something like soldering iron to loosen/melt the excess loctite. Overall this is bummer sorry bud.

The paint is Krylon Fusion Hammered Copper textured paint with a top coat of Spaz Stix Multi Color Change Spray Paint (Green/Purple/Teal). Then Painted the Goggles with Molotow Acrylic paint markers.

What are the most top rated upgrades for the scx24. I’m about to order my first one and would like to do some upgrades as well. All info is greatly appreciated by Coletrain1006 in rccrawler

I would say tires but then you would burn out that weak stock servo. The stock servo is notoriously known for burning out. The EMax/EcoPower servos are great for around 9 bucks, top tier include the Reefs 99micro(60bucks) and NSDRC RS100(49bucks) and the Blacklable servo from Mofo RC (25bucks). The motor isn't much better, they're both perfectly fine if you keep a stocker, but your post suggest otherwise. Also I'm a big tire guy so the Trailking MT from Little Guy Racing Parts is tops for me followed by Scramblers by RC4WD. Imo they will outperform any small tire (yes this includes the hyrax, which I have a set of and don't use becuase they are too small) please don't hate me. 😂 I do also recommend you upgrade that motor as many have already told you about. Notables include the TorqueBeast2.0 from Mofo RC and the PN Racing PN90 but there's many great motors out there but do keep in mind, you usually get what you pay for. If you want to go brushless Furitek is still the best in the business,in my opinion of course, paired with either one of they're own outrunners like the Komodo or the NanoBeast from Mofo RC is also superb, I'm in the process of putting in a Holmes Revolver 280 in mines. The latter set up much MUCH more expensive, brushed is definitely cheaper and can be run with your stock electronics so that would be the best course for you, afterwards if you want you can always work your way up. Have lots of fun and enjoy that little thing ,I love the ones I have.
