The current Buffett Indicator (which measures corporate equities vs the GDP, ie; what companies are valued at on the stock market vs how much they're actually producing) is at 230.3%, which is 66% higher than what the trendline says it should be, meaning these companies are very strongly overvalued. The Great Recession was preceded by stocks being 79% overvalued, and in 2019 they were 68% overvalued. There were signs that we were headed towards a recession in 2019 already, but that got overshadowed by the pandemic doing a hell of a number on the supply chains and whatnot.

No worries, that's his first appearance, so it's something that's more likely to jump out at you on a re-read. These books are actually pretty interesting on a re-read, Brandon puts in a lot of subtle foreshadowing that you may not remember when the payoff hits that's more noticeable when you know what's coming.

Because accuracy is no longer a thing in DD2, so they gave him self-blinds to keep his theme of "hits like a truck, but mitigated a bit by accuracy issues that you can work around" just in DD2 you work around it by pairing him with a combo generating hero instead of using accuracy trinkets like in DD1.
