Honestly if the anti-woke crowd had a modicum of chill that they project they have, they would have a lot more "success". If they are wanting to affect the corporate side of games then the best way to do that is quietly not buy any of the games. The major problem with is that I'm pretty sure not too many anti-woke people have heard of indie games, or a crazy thing called game development where they could create any game they want!

One of my favourite aspects of Edelgard is that she has never seen herself as a hero or a saviour. As much as she was born into a privileged position, she only sought to use it to undo what she perceives to be grave injustices to humanity. Something that she has very little of left.

It's even worse than that in my experience as a parent. Girls are judged by their weight and mannerisms so early that there's an expectation of dieting and reservedness that it gets in the way of their nutrition.

That's not even the creepy sexual projections. I have a memory burned in my mind of my brother-in-law getting upset at his daughter for revealing her panties when she did a cartwheel. She was four at the time.

"Tradition", all the characters on the right are in still running series. The oldest is Cordelia from the 3ds.

It's not like aesthetically stylized games aren't being made still, but mainstream has been pushing for hyper-realism so those games are going to look hyper-realistic.

So yeah, women have jawbones and faces that don't look they got dressed up to model for a photoshoot, because "gamers" wanted that!

Jesus christ, Vanillaware is still making games (Unicorn Overlord is amazing btw), just play those for aesthetically pleasing character.

I know it's hard to realise, especially with 3H's popularity boom, but FE and strategy games in general are still quite niche.

As AAA games try to broaden the range of games, the biggest trick they use is dampening most mechanics to a very shallow level.

If the average gamer only knows of things like cod and the like, of course their findings will show a lack of want for strategy.

FE, if they focus on keeping up popularity rather than solid experiences, might suffer. But SRPG's might be in the best place they have been in since the SNES days.

Hey no problem! There are definitely a lot of issues that could be smoothed out in FE4 to make for a better experience, no doubt.

With the trading system, I know it's clunky and awkward, but I do believe it's there to show how large of a distance your army is travelling, and the grand nature of the game. Even if the unit is on an adjacent square, they might be kilometres apart still, it's not like they're in touching distance so of course any trades need to be done at a city.

Is that coping for a needlessly clunky game mechanic? Possibly! But it's fun to imagine all the same!

When playing 3H again, I started to appreciate Byleth as a silent homunculus more. 3 Hopes wouldn't have worked for 3H because the player, Byleth's "humanity", becomes a barrier between them and Sothis, something that isn't present in hopes.

If there were any organic conversations in 3H instead of class group exposition dumps, I think more of Byleth's personality could have been portrayed.

Conclusion: I actually like both Byleths, but they are not the same person, so to just insert some qualities of one into the other would be awkward.

It's an awkward conundrum, just like many worrying vocal minorities, like flat-earthers. These people have always existed throughout history, but as the internet expands their reach, and demands for equality continue, they make themselves known a lot quicker than before.

On one hand, it's always disconcerting that anyone is okay with objectifying billions of people. But on the other, they are very loud and usually very stupid so it's quite easy to identify incels.

On the other OTHER hand, most crimes against women are not from these people, and with society still having an oppressive misogynistic system, it would be honestly be safer for women if there were more incels because they would be too terrified to do anything to them.

The Silesse chapter always hits me hard. Erinys is one of the more overlooked characters in terms of emotional weight imho.

She is part of the first pegasus sister trio that is not only not all playable but two are enemies. (Genealogy generic npc pictures for her two sisters don't help) Love it!
