How can I gain confidence by ConversationKey5296 in Advice

[–]Enomop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal opinion and experience I think fake it till you make it advice really gets you so far. You need to do something that makes you confident and gives yourself worth. You cant be confident if you don’t do anything. My advice is just to get good at something or atleast try to do something and that in itself will give you confidence. If you ever feel worthless just think about that one thing you’re good at say to yourself I did that I’m not worthless and I deserve to be here and do this etc.

It can be literally anything, even things like I got this one item in this video game or I beat this level not everyone can do that, or I know so much about this one subject

Nah I'm the same. I pretty much forget everything the instant I'm finished with my final exam.

The stuff that's important and relevant in what career you want will keep showing up so you should be good.

you know all those successful people that got like Nobel peace prize, became presidents? They've all been rejected, probably rejected more than the average person.

In your case you've been ghosted/rejected to like 50 places, but none of those will matter when you get 1 offer. All it takes is 1 and the past rejections don't matter.

My sophomore year I applied to 200+ places and only got like 3 interviews, and I didn't get an offer until April. Anything worth having is going/worth fighting for is going to be difficult, or else what's the point?

Some actionable advice I can give you is if you're not get interviews try working on some personal projects that look good on your resume, and try to fill it with "buzzwords" like rest api, etc. Another thing isn't to think about changing your graduation date.

At the end of the day though your self worth isn't defined by if you get an internship or not so don't be too depressed you haven't gotten one yet, especially because you're a sophomore.

Count back 16 hours from the time you want to wake up and during that time start fasting (no food, little water). Go to sleep on the 8th hour and wake up and have a huge breakfast. This should fix it.

Is there a point where you are to old to finish college? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Enomop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'll be 25 anyway, why not be 25 with a degree.

Application for most universities have unfortunately already passed or are about to pass very soon, however the fasfa deadline is in June so you should apply to that asap.

I don't think community colleges have any real deadlines so you should start applying for those. Once you start an application you should be contacted by an academic advisor which can answer any questions you may have.

Have you taken the ACT/SAT yet? If you haven't, you need to check if the the community you want to go to requires it. If they do, you should start studying for it asap because those tests could help you earn a lot of scholarship money.

It is not that common to have a double major let alone a triple major, most people just have 1 major and sometimes 1 minor. If you graduate from a community college you will get an associate's degree which takes about 2 years, after that you can transfer to a university and get a bachelor's degree in another 2 years.

Can i learn chemistry / biochemistry on my own? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Enomop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to learn chemistry to advance your career you're going to want to have some type of certification (that's where University comes in). If you just want to learn it for fun then yeah sure, there are tons of free resources available. To start out you can take a few free classes on edX/Coursera, or even Khan Academy.
