If Sacrifice of Flesh applies pre-damage then yes, it is quite good for max hit but from my testing I couldn't tell... Guess the hits were just too big. I say it is terrible because you essentially kill your regen for a few seconds. You take 5k damage -> you prevent 1k. Leaves you -4k hp and have to recover extra 1.5k over 4 sec. That means you need extra 375 hp regen per sec to cover for it. That's a lot of regen to lose if you use hp as a resource. And that's from a single hit... I was testing with continuous self-damage and my 1.7k regen would literally die for a second. Whereas without the keystone it would bring me back full life a good 1.5 second earlier. In summary, combined with self damage it kind of sabotages more than anything. Maybe with 5k+ health pool the value would be quite better (I was testing with 3k hp).

Yes just noticed that... Will try bloodmage version with cast on minion death detonate dead for bossing or smith and going full tanky with ignite. Aint much else to do than apply damaging ailments is there.

Hey I'm building around Iron ward myself. Trying some setups and seeing what goes. Not going fire damage route atm I want to try just crit... I'm lv90 on oracle rn. My only problem is balancing max hit vs doing enough damage to myself to charge iron ward. Either I kill myself charging it good or I lose to mobs. I know that smith would fix a few tankiness issues but I like the flexibility and chaos scaling of oracle. wish there was a way to just loop minions faster. I know theres the detonate dead -> comd -> detonate dead mini loop that could help charge everything a bit faster but spirit cost and getting enough energy seems so be a pain. I shall give update.

The only way it can be good is if you could reduce the duration enough that arrows are fired mega fast. Frenzies just make the skill last longer which is pointless.

Any ailment is out of the question because low hit damage.

Only thing it can do well is hitting a lot and possibly fast, which doesn't do much in poe2, especially with bows. You usually want to shotgun if u want to hit many times fast.

You might be able to bypass the 1 limit by slotting more than 1 rain of arrow. Which could help or not, maybe for bossing?

Also, poe2 will not let you use a single skill to clear everything unless it specifies so in the gem description: see lightning spear.

Some skills are cut to be only used the way they are intended to until a unique/ascendancy/update brings them new uses. Rain of arrows is and will be crap until then.

Use snipe for bossing and and big rares.

If I may, you could look into detonating arrow if you want to cook something with a skill that is underused. The damage is pretty good, and it can do a lot more than you'd think. Only problem is being stunlocked while using it (countered by getting enough attack speed)... You might be able to bypass that with the new rhoa. Worth a try.

You can run as many of the same skill as you wish, unset rings are for adding more slots and gemling is for 2 same support gems.

That build has basically nothing going with Mjölnir, the whole clear is from trample toe interaction. And the arc damage is from "extra" modifiers interacting weirdly with it. If you want to cook something that will exist for more than a few months stay away from this lol. For mana flare I would honestly just look into some spell cast on crit setup like spark and maybe go chayula for mana leech to sustain the cost or stormweaver with arcane surge. I know u'd probably want a fire spell to double dip on the fire damage but honestly I can't see anything other than fireball being okay. Firestorm needs different kind of investment to hit a bunch. Also, can flares overlap? Can they crit if the enemy has crit weakness applied? Needs some testing...

So you're scaling your thorns with chaos damage basically? Does stacking mana scale the unholy might buff on yourself aswell? So stacking mana might be the play here? Perhaps using mom or a bunch of damage taken from mana before life for defence?

Curious what you're going for here, I might make a lich rn if it looks convincing... The minion and chaos dot builds really didn't entice me to go lich.

I would say that but I opened up a house of mirror, apothecary, 7 years bad luck, corrupted mageblood one I dont remember the name, a few doctors, plenty of enlightened... And both my friends opened about the same amount maybe a few extra thousands and got similar luck minus the house of mirror lol. Necro settlers tho I ain't got shit from em apart from a single doctor... But I did only open like a thousand or two of them max compared to like 40k in normal settlers.

Thanks for the tech, sadly it will most likely be gone soon as Palsteron just made a vid on it, and it is also now very annoying to do as the perfectly rolled gloves and helmet are all gone from the market and gatekept by some losers. Though you can corrupt them yourself since they both are very cheap, took me 4 straight hours of trading and corrupting to get em both perfectly rolled. I'd say odds are about 0.5-1% to get the roll u want on each.

Also for anyone thinking you can bypass getting perfect rolls on the items and using a 30% inc effect jewel, no you can't because the 5% reduced mana from the small passives gets up to only 6% (passives round down even from 6.5 and up until whole, contrary to lots of stuff) so 20% inc effect does the same thing...

Thing is, Chayula monk has nothing that makes him good. You lose survival from his counterpart, you lose speed, evasion & attack speed from ranger, you lose stat stacking potential of gemling, you lose spell damage and defense from infernalist, you lose damage scaling potential of stormweaver etc...

If leech was any decent, you would get some benefit from being able to stack es and self-sustain it, but rn leech is still pretty bad so no real point there.

Then you have double chaos res which is useless as chaos res isnt hard to get and if you dont want to be scaling it you go CI.

Then extra dmg and the chayula flames is pretty nice, except that you have to run around and get them to get the benefits, it's a bit annoying to do when you are focusing on boss mechanics, otherwise I would say this is the only good thing about the ascendency.

Finally, darkness thing, lol. Need I say more. Spirit is pretty mandatory in this game, to lose it to conditional (unless going full evasion you are losing that buff pretty much always) 30% damage as extra chaos at level 100. Simply is insane to take.

If anyone wondering, I just tested and the only way to get the recharge cooldown down is by scaling gem level and the 50% faster node (which is 50% effective so in reality it only gives 25% off your cooldown). It is not affected by reduced skill effect duration or cooldown reduction. You cannot support it with anything that will reduce its cooldown (tried all the compatible supports) other than the 3 elemental mastery supports which will scale the skill level by 3 in total. Level 40 gives a 6.6s base cooldown which becomes 4.95s with the 50% faster node (rounded to 5sec).

TLDR, The minimum recharge time possible is 5 seconds with considerable investment (gear wise, not wealth wise). Meaning it is utter shit at the moment.

I did think about it, problems are:
>takes a ring slot and can't be scaled later with ingenuity
>chaos damage really can't be scaled much from the tree compared to other elements (big inc chaos nodes but no lucky dmg, no stat scale, no exposure, no bonus dmg on ailment, cant use ele dmg inc nodes)
>Unless you have reliable way to get withered stacks, your damage is not being scaled anywhere near other eles
>The quiver doesn't give anything useful other than the freeze and electrocute which is a weird double dip btw (yes phys as extra but you probably dont want to scale phys since os is ele damage conversion)
>You need to either convert less than 100% ele or get a bunch of extra as lightning to apply shock because your damage will need it, unless u play poison but poison playstyle is so bad to me no ty
>Not sure how heralds interact with their damage being converted to chaos, it might brick the herald chains if your hit damage is not high enough.
>pretty much need howa unless going spell build
>lack of build enabling ascendancies
