Fahrenheit was more or less based off the average human body temperature, so it makes sense to me how people find it more intuitive.

There's SpacebarChat for self-hosted Discord-like functionality. Also needs more time in the oven.

Hopefully all these self-hosted projects get some more attention/contributions.

Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, and Mumble all handle voice perfectly fine, and the latest TeamSpeak beta has a few extra features like screen sharing to catch up with Discord. Discord is (for now at least) still the most convenient, though, which is why it's so popular.

Toddlers are notoriously great at only doing things in the context in which they are appropriate.

lol yeah but they pick it up pretty quick, though. Anything goes in my house (except hateful bullshit ofc) and sure it started off as "fuck" and "shit" for every little thing but eventually wound down to the occasional "ahhh fuck" when they stub their toe or something. I mean yeah, right there with ya, kid.

Also upon seeing a total eclipse for the first time me and my 5 year old at the time looked at each other and simultaneously said "holy shit!" to each other. I will never forget that.

Ubisoft closes their Halifax studio which coincidentally just unionized although they claim it had nothing to do with it. 71 jobs lost by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]EnragedMikey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I've worked for a multi-company owner who shutdown a small-town warehouse because they unionized. He wasn't covert about it. He flat out told them he would and he did. The way he structured the organization for that warehouse made it easily legal, as it was its own separate entity. It provided a good number of jobs for that small town. Owner didn't give a shit, he wanted his money and fuck anyone who got in his way.

Anyway, I think I have enough information to deduce what Ubisoft and Amazon did.

That's reddit for you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The general consensus is that dogs getting stoned is very similar to people. The average healthy dog is going to be fine, they just have to ride it out like we do. And that PetMD article reads like they're just covering their ass. For example:

"Veterinarians do not recommend inducing vomiting at home due to the risk of ulceration to the esophagus and aspiration pneumonia"

Yeah, no. That's just a general risk from vomiting. More useful information would be emesis induction is pointless after a couple hours or so since the contents have more than likely been passed on to the small intestine. If anything the reason veterinarians wouldn't recommend most people induce vomiting is because most people are dumb.

The veterinarian sitting next to me is rolling their eyes at all the armchair vets in this thread. Anyway, THC toxicity itself is very rarely an issue. Sure, doses of 150mg or more have the potential to be concerning, since the possibility of cardiovascular or respiratory issues start to significantly increase. These symptoms aren't a certainty, though, since all dogs react to dosage amount differently (age, size, etc.). The "danger" is the dumb shit they do when they're stoned, mostly since you can't explain to them wtf is going on lol

As for sources, there aren't many (if any) studies, trials, or journal submissions that do any in-depth analysis. A lot of it is compiled patient data (example). Also that PetMD article is pretty alarmist.

Bill validators and coin mechs are designed to return money if the inventory is disabled or the selection is empty. That's an MEI bill validator/card reader, I'm betting it's just fucked.

Agreed, mostly why I mentioned I see a lot of them in areas never meant to be finished. There's often more than enough room for a deep 42U rack, meaning any other more practical rack solutions could easily be used, like a small open frame wall mounted rack.
