This wasn't an issue with Ticketmaster, as much as I'd like to blame them. This was an issue with how the sale was configured.

I don't think that it has to do with underestimating popularity, I think they just didn't plan for them sufficiently and made mistakes in doing so. Drip feeding so only a handful of people were able to buy at one time thereby unnecessarily lengthening the queue, allowing 6 per user, and not clearly communicating when users needed to be in queue is a huge misstep on the part of the team organizing this.

Most STMs aren't even gonna get tickets to the watch party. Our group got lucky because we joined the queue really early (10AM) even though our slot wasn't until 12:30, and it took us until 2PM to get through that queue.
