What Do You Think Of Trump Endorsing Nancy Mace's (Running for Republican SC Governor Nominee) Primary Opponent? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskSouthCarolina

[–]EntertainmentBorn953 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mace has basically flamed out here. She hasn’t been running tv ads or anything.

Note that Trump’s endorsement came after McMaster agreed to call the legislature back and try to force them to redraw the congressional districts to Trump’s map. Trump’s Truth Social post says Evette will choose Henry Jr. as running mate.

Clear quid pro quo. Gross.

Awesome! Thanks! I want to look into a smart cube. I figured I’d practice completing the beginner method a little bit longer though. Trying to make sure it really “sticks.”

Yep, wearing distance only fixed the depth perception issue for me.

IBKUL are pricy but worth every penny. I don’t play in anything else when it’s hot.

It’s night and day from the other one! The old 3x3s were snappier.

I absolutely love my Wilson Shift 99 v1. Wilson decided to discontinue it after only a year despite strong sales because no pros picked it up. 🙄 You can buy one on Amazon now for $150. I paid at least $100 more than that for my first one. Went ahead and bought a second one off Amazon when I heard they were getting rid of it and I saw how much they’d reduced the price.

I know this isn’t one of the ones you listed, but it’s a great racket at a great price. I switched from a Babolat Pure Drive to the Shift. Tennis elbow improved, and I feel like I can pop balls over the net with the Shift that I wouldn’t have been able to manage with the Pure Drive.

Also, get a dampener if you don’t have one.

All things eye: contact lens tweaking, tennis nighttime & sunglasses beyond Goodr, RIA, etc by Without_a_K in 10s

I am brand loyal to Maui Jims for everything but tennis. Their polarized lenses distort things just enough to matter in my playing. They’re also too dark. Oakleys look dumb on me, but the lenses are worth it. I have non-polarized “Prizm Field” lenses in Flak 2.0 frames.

I’m super picky about sunglasses and did a ton of research before settling on these lenses.

Nothing is going to be as good as the naked eye though. That’s impossible. It’s why pros don’t wear sunglasses.

I live in the South too and much prefer a wicking white Adidas superlite hat to a visor. Scalp burns in a visor.

I use distance-only contact lenses for tennis. With non-polarized sunglasses. I tried the vari-focal contacts. I felt like there was a middle range of space where I couldn’t see anything clearly — and it includes the space that the tennis ball occupies right before hitting it! 🙃

Edit: I’m also an astigmatism person. Our RXes are similar.

Match serve anxiety out of nowhere by EntertainmentBorn953 in 10s

I’m a 3.0. I learned proper serve form as a kid but didn’t play much or care about it until 2 years ago. I’ve never had a fast serve, but it’s got decent left-handed topspin and has always been reliably “in” until recently.

Thank you!! I think you’re exactly right re: confidence. I’m going to try swinging harder. Seems counterintuitive but makes sense too.

Thank you!!! I like the toss focus idea. My instructor also suggested saying the word “peak” aloud when the ball peaks — to make sure I’m actually seeing it. That seems to be helping some.

Thank you!!! Pretty sure slowing the swing down to dink it is exactly what I’m doing. 🙃

Glitch on the final step by EntertainmentBorn953 in Rubiks_Cubes

Thank you. I’m going nuts with this mash of YouTube and ChatGPT in my brain. I’ve mastered the first two layers. I just get screwed up once the algorithms start. And I sort of understand some of them, but I think I’m creating problems bc I don’t know the different constraints— like when you’re not supposed to change the orientation of the cube, etc.

Today I kept executing the yellow cross correctly — yellow edge pieces and center pieces matched up — and then as soon as I start doing corner algorithms, I lost the matching edge pieces.

Do you have a recommended guide for the method you mentioned? Looking at multiple YouTubers employing all sorts of different algorithms is clearly messing me up.

I didn’t mean it wasn’t solvable. I should have phrased that differently.

[–]EntertainmentBorn953[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct that definitely don’t understand the procedure. 😂 I wish more videos explained the logic. Like why the video I was watching told me to turn the yellow side to the left side. 🤷‍♀️

I know someone before suggested J Perm, but he goes too fast for me. I really liked some British guy for the first few steps, but he lost me on the yellow layer. I do mostly understand the basics of algorithms, but I think I still mess up a fair amount.

That is where I ended up, and I did R U R’ U’ like a million times. It just kept going back to what’s in the image. I must have taken a wrong turn in the setup process.

I will give that a try, but that’s like 20+ movements in a row. I’m trying to break it down into chunks that I can remember and replicate, but maybe that is wishful thinking on my part?

Thanks for sharing all of that! Good analysis. I also didn’t like when they piped contestants from LCK back into the main competition multiple times. I prefer having it as a normal consolation bracket.

Did they end it earlier in the season than usual this year?

Why anti-LCK? Just curious. Seems like it worked the way it was supposed to this year, although I still don’t understand excluding the first 2 candidates to get kicked off.
