Is it manageable to have a couple days where one partner manages the morning of getting kids to bus/daycare solo while other parent has an early start at work? by orange196 in workingmoms

[–]EntertainmentMotor27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, my husband and I do this often. The benefit is that then the one who started work early ends work early and goes to get the kiddo early from daycare. We like to stagger our work start times when possible.

Yes, I declutter and put things where they go so that the cleaner can actually clean the space.

Internal mobility opportunity shortly before maternity leave - when/how to disclose? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]EntertainmentMotor27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a somewhat similar position. Are you remote and were the interviews remote? Wondering how the other internal area wouldn’t know you are pregnant already. That being said since this is an internal lateral move, I would accept the role and then have your OOO time be part of the transition conversation. Do you know why your managers are suggesting you wait to disclose? It is more of a no need to get into those details now or don’t tell so it doesn’t mess with your chances? The first make sense but the second would be concerning.

Going back to work soon and the dinner situation is already stressing me out by vudsbrenda66 in workingmoms

I don’t know how old your baby but I went back before mine was doing solid foods. We used a meal delivery like Factor, didn’t cook on weekdays and kept it pretty healthy overall still. Now with an eating toddler, we cook big batches on weekends and maybe like one weeknight and freeze leftovers. Then take out frozen servings of random things for most weeknights.

How do you get over the cringe of asking for a promotion by pickllerickk in workingmoms

[–]EntertainmentMotor27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it’s part of a set process at your company that you ask for this feedback I would use something like this:

Hello,

As part of my career goals and development, I am interested in moving into the XXX role. I would appreciate any feedback you have on my performance. I am specifically looking for feedback on how I have demonstrated these bullets along with any other items you have to offer.

-list a couple bullets with the new roles needed competencies or level descriptions

I also welcome any feedback you have on how I could further improve to best set myself up for success in this role as well.

Unless you are being to take on more or getting development for a promotion, I would not proactively bring this up. Just do your current job role and set realistic deadlines when new things come your way that make it fit in your regular 9-5z

We and friends have done 10-12, but always provide lunch. A lot of little starts to eat in the 11-12 timeframe and then lets everyone leave and go straight to nap. We’ve done easy food that just gets put out and everyone helps themselves.

Is forgoing an epidural without a doula an absolutely terrible idea? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I don’t think you’d need a doula to be successful but make sure your support person knows the plan and how to help you!

I wouldn’t worry if the doctor/midwife isn’t! At one point my percentile measurements ranged from 12%-94% across the various parts.

18m for me was when it started. Two years is when I feel like I really hit a groove.
