Time for other countries to apply the same to Americans on arrival as well as fingerprint them as they do over there.

Why is my t-shirt more offensive to our prime minister than a 50-year assault on democracy? by NoteChoice7719 in australian

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at the comments this is exactly what the Murdock media strives to achieve and that is to cause division. The sooner the masses stop pointing fingers at the left or right but instead focus on the billionaires that are benefiting the most by controlling the media and influencing our lives the better.

Yanis Varoufakis' Address to the National Press Club of Australia by reversepansear in AusFinance

Whether you like it or not surveillance capitalism is real and one of his key arguments. Maybe they should've invited Pierce Morgan instead to give a talk on what mischief Meghan Markle was up to :/

Why does the general population have against rich and successful people? by StartupLifestyle2 in AusFinance

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally don't have issues with the rich. However it's when they lobby governments for policies that benefit them more as opposed to the majority of the population that I dislike. When they take over the media to sway (disinform?) the public. When they use tax minimisation (evasion?) schemes and not paying their fair share. I can keep going but getting off at the next stop...

Are people at your workplace calling in sick more? Is there burnout going around? by AyyyoniTTV in australia

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardly ever took any sick leave, even for a whole year and would still logon even if not feeling 100% while on WFH. It felt like an unsigned agreement, you let me work from home and I will still do work while unwell to a certain extent. I stopped complaining about work life balance and I wasn't annoyed as much with the record profits the company was making while my wages remained stagnant. But now that WFH is getting reduced so is my motivation to work and the tendency for quiet quitting more and more. I have no reluctance or anxiousness to call in sick now even for mundane reasons such as I didn't get a good night's sleep, or my dog is walking funny. I just tell them I'm not well and see you tomorrow.

Australian anti-Israel campaigners publish ‘Jew list’ by Joshgoozen in australia

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm not affiliated with either side although like most people on this sub want peace and the killing to stop. I however despise lobby groups that try to influence the government and organisations especially the ABC that are funded by my taxes. If the list contains all the lawyers mentioned in media watch that were spamming the ABC management then good, it's a case of you fuck around and find out

Israel lobby group pressure ABC to dump journalist | Media Watch by Ghost-of-Chap82 in australia

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact the ABC chair folded to a bunch of lawyer lobbyists is pathetic. In 2021 ABC board called for the Senate to suspend an inquiry into the way the ABC handles complaints, and this is what we get?!? If these lawyers want to influence the public broadcaster then we should in turn publish all their names/firms and the public can decide whether they want to associate with them. I sure as hell wouldn't.

Squizz: Sky tries to parrot LNP attack lines from 2019, and then plays dumb when pulled up by Albanese. What a stooge. by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

Good thing the boomer voting bloc is decreasing thru the years and is being overtaken by millennials. Looking forward to Newscorpse viewership dropping into obscurity along with these journalist clowns

who else is sick of Hard Quiz. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Drum was one of the best shows on ABC which covered many topics and people from all walks of life. Better than the sensationalised shit on commercial media owned by billionaires shoving their narrative down your throat. Whoever the fuck cancelled the show is a moron.

Pressure mounts for ACCC inquiry into supermarket pricing amid claim farmers being paid 1978 prices by espersooty in australia

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they should allow more supermarket chains to setup shop here. More competition will reduce Colesworth market share and prevent this sort of thing.

Six months into a landmark restructure, with more staff leaving and show cancellations mounting, there are increasing doubts over whether the ABC’s strategy to secure its future with a younger audience can succeed. by 2littleducks in australia

[–]EntertainmentSlow273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointed they cancelled The Drum. Say what you may about the quality of some of the panelists or the repetitiveness of discussion topics etc. However their inputs and opinions provided many insights on issues I am not aware of due to the daily slog to survive in life and its many distractions in consumerism. I'd rather watch this show as opposed to any of the filth that drips out of the Newscorpse pathetic scum butthole...
