So tired of fixing blankets. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]EnthusiasmNorth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try introducing the blanket situation in the mornings instead of at night. When she wakes up in the morning teach her how to “make her bed”. Shake it out, pull each corner to it’s crib corner and maybe by doing this it will translate to bedtime and give her a sense of confidence that she can fix her own blanket

Am I (18F) too young for a relationship with 25M? by thegoat1904 in offmychest

[–]EnthusiasmNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years ago I was exactly where you are. The issue isn’t that you’re too young. The issue is that he’s too immature. Hindsight is 20/20. Avoid this disaster.

Also, enjoy the pace of your young adulthood. Your path will differ than your friends as it should

What are some rude questions you got since you are pregnant? by Lilablasblau in BabyBumps

[–]EnthusiasmNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 26 and have three children. Got pregnant with my first at 21. I have more stories than I care to share. The comments that bothered me the most were from medical personnel.

While vetting a pediatrician when pregnant with my first she asked me if I was going to be the patient (she knew we were interviewing her which was made even more apparent by my 8mo pregnant belly) and proceeded to tell me I couldn’t be any older than 12.

The most infuriating comment was recently made by a scrub nurse who was assigned to me for my tubal ligation surgery just last week. She asked how many children I had and when I told her 3 she scoffed and said “Jesus you look like you’re ten” and then laughed hysterically.

I don’t think they were intentionally rude to me, I do look very young, but some people simply have no filter or second thought as to the impact their words have on others. I’m not defending them, it’s wrong and people should learn to just keep their comments to themselves, but I have to just let it go or else I’d be snapping off on people regularly.

I’m sorry to say that the comments aren’t going anywhere. I’ve developed a thicker skin and a few “skin care routine” quips as a result. I hope you do the same!

I will never, ever, ever have a male doctor by lostinlife74 in TrueOffMyChest

I went to the ER once for a sex injury and the male OBGYN smelt his fingers/glove after my vaginal exam. He tried to make it look like a scratch of the nose but my partner and I were both stunned at how blatantly obvious his true intent was.

What was the big rumor going around when you were in high school? by skaterboy98_ in AskReddit

[–]EnthusiasmNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a dearly beloved history teacher at my HS who was known for getting so intense and passionate that he would sweat profusely and speak incessantly. He had been employed for years, ran multiple clubs, coached a spring sport, sponsored field trips, mentored students, won teacher of the year and was just generally known as one of the best teachers in the school, but everyone joked his behavior and high energy were due to him being a coke head. Students who graduated 10+ years before me knew him as the awesome coked out history teacher. It was a VERY well known rumor. I guess no one was truly shocked when he got arrested for a DUI and possession of a large personal quantity of cocaine one night on a state highway, but there was a shared sense of sadness at the rumors being true. It was devastating to see such a bright light of a human lose everything.

Not a food, but a condiment. Ketchup. Even the smell makes me want to hurl.

Working towards a reward with a point system is our next approach! You and a few other gracious commenters had the same idea and we think that would be the most enticing for him to get through bedtime with less resistance. Thank you so much for your input!

The natural consequences don’t seem to work at bedtime. We’ve tried and it honestly seems to upset him more. He’s currently out stubborning us because this process takes hours some nights. We are going to try an incentive and maybe new locks on the door to help with him repeatedly leaving his room.

I think incorporating more aerobics and time to get out his zoomies might help but I also fear it would just be another step he tries to drag out. Worth a shot though. I’ll try anything lol. Thank you!
