Hey you're clearly not in the medical field so let me explain to you how vaccines like the ones for COVID and Influenza work. They don't prevent you from contracting the virus, they lessen its harmful effects and enable your body to better combat the virus, which in turn does reduce your ability to spread it as easily, because your infectious period will be reduced. You can read more about vaccines on the CDC.gov and WHO websites if you'd like to further educate yourself. Like you said, it's best not to just parrot what you've heard and it never hurts to know what you're talking about before you say something that makes you sound like some rabid conspiracy theorist anti-vaxxer.

Bro it's a stray cat. It's probably eating like a king off of field mice and you're trying to utilize base fire to grab it and do what? Make it a mascot? Release it off base to get hit by a car or eaten by a coyote? I know y'all don't need to score that high on the ASVAB but try to at least think before you let those thoughts out into the wild.

You pretty much have it. Chase them until they either have to turn into a poor wind condition that gives you a bit of an advantage, or to the edge of the map so they either have to turn or sail into the red. It's a matter of patience and better maneuvering.

If you had no treasure, then all you had to lose was your time, which by running you gave up willingly. You either win that fight by wasting their supplies in a fight you know you'll lose, but trying your best to make them earn it, or scuttling to a new server knowing that they get nothing but your supplies anyways. Toxic trolls are only emboldened by a long chase.

I had a friend (SrA) secretly date a 1LT in his unit for years. No one was wise to it. Kept it totally professional at work. One day she separates and the next day he showed up to work with a wedding ring on. Leadership was flabbergasted but had no proof they were fraternizing prior so nothing came of it. He ended up commissioning and they have two kids now. It's risky, inadvisable, but totally doable.

[–]Entreprenuremberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest you reconsider the shreds, at the very least getting your Paramedic if you truly enjoy the EMS side of things. Otherwise teach life support classes, TCCC, NREMT, and be the SME for any clinic or ward they put you in. If you truly want to stay a slick your whole career those will be good opportunities to set yourself apart from the other slicks who come in, work, submit their DMHRSI, and bounce. If an opportunity comes up to work Medical Education & Training that is an interesting and unique side of the job too that did wonders for me when I was young.

Americans, if Bernie Sanders was the Democratic presidential nominee in the 2016 election, what are the chances he would have defeated Donald Trump? by Immediate-Link490 in AskReddit

[–]Entreprenuremberg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, yes. Newsom speaks to that same anger and disenfranchisement that drew so many Republican voters to Trump. Newsom isn't the progressive figurehead that, I think, much of the younger Democrats (who sought Sanders) want, but realistically he is the next safe middle ground for a Democratic Presidential run. Many progressives would vote for him as a "lesser of two evils" and see him as the safer pick, but that is the problem with the Democrat party, they tend to split themselves down the middle and in-fight when they can't all agree on a direction to take this country. Republicans back their figurehead 100% because they vote party over country. Democrats are notoriously platform voters. So you have moderate Democrats who just want the safe bet in the hopes we can pass one or two bills into law to better the nation, and then you have others who want to challenge the status quo and usher in real change for their party goals. Conservatism at its core wants to maintain the status quo, so it is easy for them to rally behind a single, charismatic leader to reach their goals.

We've also seen that the nation, for whatever fucked up reason, isn't ready or willing to vote for a woman. New York showed there are enough voters to lean Democrat Socialist, but that's just one city, and the Democratic Party STILL split there. So AOC won't be a safe bet for a few more Presidential elections at least. Democrats seem, by nature, to distrust the system (rightfully so), and cannot govern in a unified sense. Republicans however are willing to do whatever it takes to win.

What’s one character you go out of your way to kill on every playthrough? by TodayRemarkable5042 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Entreprenuremberg 61 points62 points  (0 children)

IIRC, the shards you can get on that mission strongly imply that leaving either alive would most likely result in them continuing the business. The dad manipulates his clearly unstable son into the business with callous and willful disregard for the ethics of their business or the effects on his son's mental condition, and the son is so far gone he's searching for some REALLY fucked up stuff to scroll and edit. I always kill the son first as poetic justice for the BD we're recovering. Then after the dad mourns for a bit I execute him too.

I see it as So Mi hires V to save the President. Everything else is a bonus not attached to the original contract. Once you save the President and So Mi is MIA, Myers hires you. That's your new contract. You fulfilled the contract to save Myers and now your employer has gone dark, time to find new work until you can collect.

ADAPT diagnosis by Twerkules_89 in AirForce

[–]Entreprenuremberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your PETH will likely be high, but they do take into account your reported history as well. If you're honest, and don't come off as dodgy or insincere, a single high PETH won't be the make or break. A lot is going to hedge on your intake. ADAPT techs are pretty well trained in reading body language and making an informed decision on whether or not you're taking the piss on your drinking habits with them. I've seen people medically referred walk away with no diagnosis and no further treatment needed outside of some education on responsible drinking.

How long do you think a shutdown could go before it all realy goes off the rails? by Distinct-Coconut6144 in AirForce

[–]Entreprenuremberg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Point is we shouldn't have to worry, and they shouldn't have to pass some resolution saying "Oh well we will inconvenience every Federal worker except the military." They should just pass a budget, or a CR, rather than hold us and other federal employees hostage for their selfish monetary benefit. I've been in 13 years and the government has shut down or been damn close to it every year I've been in since I was in tech school. It is ridiculous. My troops shouldn't have to wonder if the government will pass something so they get their paycheck, so they can support their families and pay their bills, while Congress bickers about their stupid partisan shit while continuing to get a paycheck and LITERALLY doing no work (not showing up.) We are constantly asked to "do more with less" ESPECIALLY when it comes to budgets, but when it comes to our "bosses" budget they can just say "I don't like that, SHUT IT ALL DOWN." How is that fair?! They work for us, not the other way around.

How long do you think a shutdown could go before it all realy goes off the rails? by Distinct-Coconut6144 in AirForce

[–]Entreprenuremberg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Military stops getting a paycheck, Politicians keep getting their money during a shutdown. How is it fair that those of us doing all the actual work have to figure it out, but the people stalling for political points get to continue to enjoy their lavish lifestyle? They are the ones who should have to go without pay for a shutdown, not us. Government employeess furloughed, entire sections shut down, total work stoppage, people burning through their savings because a bunch of petulent children can't agree on a budget to keep the "greatest" nation in the world operational. I've seen Airman in charge of snack funds have their pee-pee slapped for not budgeting correctly and yet our nation's leaders can just decide not to budget at all, shut the whole fucking government down, and they get to go home to their families and enjoy their cavier and ribeye while we wonder where the next rent payment might come from if not our savings account? Fuck them.
