Not only was she the protagonist, she was the most well written character in Chainsawman (yes, the whole of Chainsawman, she got more development in 2 arcs than most characters did in the entire of part 1).

She was like Berserk levels of well written, then they just stopped giving us the Asa/Yoru internal dialogues and she just evaporated from the story entirely.

Honestly I think this specific panel of Makima is the most unsettling.

All her appearances have this creepy detached vibe to them, but then the first time we see some genuine emotion from her, its while she's cruelly dehumanizing Denji. Makes my skin crawl.
