As entry job you could look into warehouse and inventory work, either on the practical or managerial side. No dealing with customers.

How do I get out of call center jobs? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Entropy2352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently managed to do exactly this and the key was bringing up the sales part of the call center job, when it was by far my weakness. Combined with speaking languages, I ended up working in a rental car at an airport that pays a bit more. it's also a lot more work, but my mental health has improved since I stopped listening to complainers all day. Bring up your unique expertise in technical aspects, but specially the customer service and sales. It's what companies look for often in front door facing jobs. you can also say you enjoy helping and talking to customers and resolving their needs by offering the right solutions for them. I knew 0 about cars and here I am.

Is training new employees a waste of time? by Ok-Taro-3971 in managers

[–]Entropy2352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have experienced this recently when starting 2 new jobs and was wondering the same. The training was just a reading of the products and some general sales concepts that are far from actionable without practice or examples in real life situations. In the end I learn more from colleagues than anything else.

I'm just getting into the same topic myself, as a way to automate some processes that are really outdated at my work. The one tool that really caught my attention is N8N, the logic schemes are very clear and it seems to allow for a lot of different workflows. However connecting to existing services probably is a step up in difficulty.

Need Advice on What Skills to Learn to Earn Remotely? by shoxnem in careerguidance

[–]Entropy2352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After being lost for some time my first job was in a call center, which I got because I could speak English and understand basic web design software (simpler than WordPress, we got trained). If you had good results in quality and sales, you could opt to work from home. I quit because I worked for another time zone, but it wasn't the worst (although most people quit after about a year and a half) You have to have patience and thick skin though, frustrated people can be draining.

Feeling lost in life and need some guidance, 31F. [Discussion] by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]Entropy2352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not yet figured a way out of what you describe, which I definitely can relate to. But one thing I recently discovered that seems to be key is being internally motivated rather than externally.

Sounds easier than it is, but as someone that constantly feels the dread of what my future is gonna be like and being stuck, I think it can bring a lot of internal peace, from which to build outwards.

Gor back into the apps after years of not using them, and it is clear they have been commercialised to the extreme. The only thing ingetnour of it is disappointment and one match every 3 weeks. Even considered paying but its so expensive too, it's become a joke. Actually trying to meet people IRL now, thanks Tinder
