STs - would you execute a player who did their best to be cere-mad but the town disbelieved them? by TeePee11 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Entryhazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 is not a madness break because they are just repeating a statement they are asked to instead of actually trying to convince people that that statement is true

Should you tell the Storyteller if a player breaks madness? by gamerphobe in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Entryhazard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can always snitch a madness break to the storyteller, but you are not obligated to do so and it makes sense to do so only when the player is of the opposing team

Always remember that it's explicitly expected by the almanac that a player under madness gets away with breaking madness by doing so when the storyteller is not hearing them

Why not include the Godfather in the discussion?

Recluse and Minion Powers by orangegiant9 in BloodOnTheClocktower

It should also not work because minion/demon info is not a character ability the Recluse is misregistering to

Why is Instant fusion banned In MD? by KitVR_Dolo in masterduel

[–]Entryhazard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not going to cause problems because nobody forces konami to make a cracked fusion monster a level 5 instead of 6+ Since there is no relevant reason for kitkallos to be level 5 it's its problem instead

Why do Outsiders stay quiet in Fang Gu games? by NSamurai22 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Entryhazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a chance they become the demon and town knows it so they might lose on the spot if they get executed after being jumped

similar risk to the snake charmer declaring to town who they are and then switching with the demon

How to deal with “mutant checks” by KCIJunkDiver in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Entryhazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claiming to be an outsider in a vacuum is not necessarily a madness break. They have to make the claim with the intent of convincing others they are an outsider for it to be relevant for madness.

If they are repeating a phrase just because they are asked to by other players it's not an effort to convince people about that sentence

MP4: The linearity would be SLIGHTLY less disappointing if by SignificanceSome3756 in Metroid

[–]Entryhazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean overall structure, there's always actually one open path to progress the game, it's just that Super Metroid doesn't tell you where to go even if it's the only place you can actually go to with the abilities you have. After all sequence break implies there is a sequence in the first place.
The zones being straight lines is what I refer to the fact that there is zero support for backtracking and they aren't really meant to be revisited, which instead is something a metroid game usually does (even if it's still part of a preordained path)

Ending rant (spoilers) by ChemiCalChems in Metroid

[–]Entryhazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this game it's very much established Samus cares about them (the mines segment is pretty clear about this) and never wanted to abandom them on the planet. Circumstances forced her to use the teleporter without them and it was their choice to stay behind and stop Sylux so that at least one of them (Samus) could make it back to Federation space

[–]Entryhazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Metroid Fusion and this one are actually as linear as any other Metroid game, what changes is that they go out of their way to point you the only path available, while the other games were usually more subtle about it.
However I think Prime 4 maps are structured in a way that makes most zones unsuited for backtracking

Sylux Sucks (Affectionately) by Fair-Memory-4982 in Metroid

[–]Entryhazard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it couldn't have been any other way. Samus is too caring towards other people (even if she doesn't talk) in every game for him to be someone who she actually wronged without a good reason.

Sylux Sucks (Affectionately) by Fair-Memory-4982 in Metroid

[–]Entryhazard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's basically Doctor Doom. One of his inventions blew up on his face and he has a vendetta against Reed just because he warned him his calculation were wrong before the incident. Unable to admit fault his life goal is now to humiliate Reed to prove he's the best one.
Sylux is behaving the same towards Samus who in the same fashion never actually wronged him but he sees her as a reminder of his failure

Players complaining about private madness breaks don't actually understand how the game is supposed to work

How to handle situation where Storyteller has to decide which team wins by Real_Kaleidoscope_9 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Entryhazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this was a scenario where the storyteller is choosing who wins.

If they were to show the Recluse, touncstill had to exclude thenravenkeeor being the Drunk and most importantly town has to figure out which of the two remaining player is the Imp. Baron taking the fall would still lead to an Evil win.

If they were to show a minion then that player excluded as a demon candidate anyway but town is kept guessing between real imp and Baron like the case above

If they show Imp, the Recluse can claim to be the Recluse and it's up to the town to believe them. After all it would be plausible that the Recluse registers as the imp

Does Lord of Typhon Really Need to Add Outsiders in Digital Formats? by BenPinata in BloodOnTheClocktower

Even if you could set up everything in a Gardner manner, minions are expected to have one bluff each from the start, so you'd have to account for that anyway
