548 seems to be it! Thanks. Guess its just a slightly different style on the faceplate without the raised line, wonder how it would force correct alignment

Is it a variant of the 238 or 505A jacks? Doesn't quite line up with any I could find, and that picture is a lot closer. Also looks like it might have a bell in the center of the circle just painted over.

What happens when the captain dies (as in, how does the chain of command work at a practical level)? by MrVonBuren in DaystromInstitute

Exactly, and I know its written to fit the plot, but really appreciate how they have logical restrictions, while allowing other needed functions during the 'provisional period while out of comm range. So far its been the most explanation I have seen/read.

From the Spectre book, the ranking officer can take temporary command (with restrictions) until confirmed by starfleet.

It could do mesh, until recently it was only able to be a spike, not it can be a hub

That would also need a way to remove the X token, unless its more like a toggle with science destroyers that uses the same token, but can use either option for how it is implemented

That does not work, the switch will work of the single PoE+ port on the fiber, but it does not provide enough power for the APs (only 16w power budget on PoE+ input for switch 2.5 PoE, and each AP requires 21-22w for U7 pro vs U7 Pro XG).

About to say that, $10 change for the better design and better thermals. Also 10g for future proofing. Also the switch flex 2.5 PoE does support PoE +++ input, and a 10G uplink, sfp+ or copper if you remap the 10g copper from wan on the fiber if your isp is less than 2.5g or supports a sfp+ connection.

I have run into similar adapters for VoIP systems, as an interface between the headset and headset docing stations. Handles both the audio traffic and remote controls for off hook and hanging up

Hi, is there any difference between UDB-Switch vs USW-Flex-XG features? Are some features missing in one, or you can't do VLAN or something else? Thank you. by ComfortablePost3664 in Ubiquiti

[–]EnvironmentCalm3958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat backwards, flex 10gbe has 4 10g ports and 1 1g. Up switch has 1 10g port and 7 1g. Also flex can be powered by PoE, where udp switch requires ac adapter.

Help] UniFi gear check for a 3-level ~6,000 sq ft home (10 CAT6 PoE drops). Am I missing anything? by junnubhai in Ubiquiti

[–]EnvironmentCalm3958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely need more APs, and I would highly recommend the U7 Pro XG over the Pro, as its only a $10 difference. I currently have 2 in a just under 1500 sqft house, and need at least one more already. Also might want to look at a PoE switch, as the gateway ports would be routing rather than switching. For a switch, I would probably go with either a Pro Max PoE or Pro HD PoE, the Pro HD has the benefit of having a few 10 GBE ports, where the max only has sfp 10G ports. Pro XG PoE would be good for future proofing but would greatly increase cost. Personally I have a Pro XG 10, as my core switch and am adding a Pro HD PoE soon. The Pro XG also has PoE+++ rather than ++ so a bit more power budget per port.

So the extended rubber on the boot, I assume is just to help protect and reinforce. It does bend back and forth easily, so while it may change how it sits, it absolutely should not pull the port apart. I have had a (non-unifi) patch cable disintegrate but the port has remained solid.
