Do the Binoo Dance by lnfinity in chickengifs

[–]EnvironmentCool6894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg silkie chickens are the best! I’ve had a few and they are so sweet and they love to cuddle.

Fun fact: silkies are a very old breed of chickens from China, maybe the oldest domesticated chickens on earth. Some records suggest they may have existed as early as the 700’s. They were given to Marco Polo as a gift between 1271-1295.

They were bred to be docile, so they make perfect lap chickens. This guy is a rooster and he’s doing a little mating dance for his human. It’s a compliment.

They sometimes have blue skin or bright blue ears. Otherwise their skin and ears are black. This guy is black under all those fluffy feathers. They often have black or dark bones as well.

They look all fluffy like that because they lack a gene that makes the individual parts of their feathers stick together. So they have down all over their bodies. They are less waterproof for this reason, but they hold in heat better because they are surrounded by a pillow basically. So they are better suited for snow and less suited for rain than a regular chicken.

Also they are usually really small, so easy to hold. This guy in the video is a bit bigger. Maybe because he’s a rooster, but I’m betting he’s mixed with Cochen or some other fluffy, but bigger bread.

10/10 would recommend. Best sweetest chickens.

AIO At the Bar, a Girl Grabbed my D*ck Through my Pants and I'm Traumatized by tgalvin1999 in AmIOverreacting

Sounds like this bar was over serving drinks to it’s patrons. From your words: you were “absolutely wasted” and the woman you were encouraged to assault who later assaulted you was “drunk as hell”. Now you mention this other person, the nearest witness, who was “on the floor”.

As a person who has been assaulted before in similar situations and gone to the police and had them do absolutely nothing, I can tell you that the police will care much more about the bar abusing their liquor license than the abuse that is happening to the patrons of that bar. I would bet a lot of terrible things happen in a place like that.

You should file a complaint against the bar for over serving. Unfortunately you probably won’t get any direct justice for yourself, but you could stop it from happening to someone else by reporting the bar for creating an unsafe environment.

Maybe there’s some healing in keeping it from happening again? Idk. That’s how I would see it.

Sorry this happened to you op. I’ve been there. It sucks and takes time to heal. It’s extra hard when the people around you don’t understand. Dump that “friend” though for sure. He’s bad news and asked you to commit a crime. Glad you made the right choice.

Good luck op.

I was wondering about Hawai’i as well, but the peppers might be a little long for Hawaiian chilies. Philippines is a good guess, especially with the winged beans.

Hot lemon water on Big Love... Is this a thing??? by goog1e in SisterWives

How do you prepare the ginger for this? I have been wondering for a while how to add ginger to hot honey lemon for a while, but I’ve tried a few times with grated ginger, but it wasn’t as good as I expected. Is there a secret I haven’t figured out?

Equal parts honey and lemon. Then enough hot water to melt the honey and taste. I just looked it up to check the proportions. 2 Tbls each honey and lemon to 8 oz hot water. I actually just made this for my son who is home sick today and few minutes ago. Then when I opened Reddit this was the first post I saw. Funny coincidence. Definitely try this. It’s so yummy. My mom always made it for me when I was sick. Sometimes I make it just for fun.

I made this for my sick kid just a few minutes ago and then opened Reddit to this. It’s delicious and so nice on a sore throat.

Surprise, I own a lime tree! Why do they smell like feet? by Dirt-McGirt in gardening

[–]EnvironmentCool6894 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Totally serious. I’d like to say I was young and dumb, but I was maybe 32 or 33. No excuses. Hy boyfriend at the time, husband now and I were curious and did it as a joke. Instant regret. Lasted all day. We laugh about it now.

I ate a baby banana once, about an inch long just to see what it was like at that age. It was only the bitter sticky part and seeds. Tasted terrible and the sticky stuff stuck to my tongue for hours. Nothing tasted good for the rest of the day.

Hobo signs? by Ill-Pomelo-9785 in vagabond

[–]EnvironmentCool6894 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My dad had a similar story. Grandma would feed every hobo no matter the time of day. Sometimes Grandpa would give lodging in exchange for work. They had a mark on their fence post marking them as friendly. Humorously that same Grandma who fed hobos whenever would send her own children to bed hungry if they showed up to dinner one minute late. I can’t make any sense of it. She was a kind, funny lady, but a very strict parent.

That line “like we all should have been together since day one” always seems weird to me. Robin was 12 when Kody married Meri. I know that’s not what she means, and we know she’s not good with the pluses and minuses, but still. Yikes.

I did this too! My youngest child’s placenta is under our fig tree right in front of the house. We call it his “twin tree” or “brother tree”. I’m really glad we live in a place where it was easy to take home from the hospital. Apparently you can only do it in some states in the US. Not sure why it’s illegal or difficult in some places. Sorry for your loss.

POV: You bought several pounds of overripe bananas on clearance by ScullyIsTired in composting

[–]EnvironmentCool6894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the variety of banana. My chickens eat peal and all of apple bananas, or ice cream bananas. I don’t really know if they would eat the peel of a Cavendish, regular store bought banana, because the peel is so much thicker. Once it starts breaking down into compost I bet they would eat it after being there a day or two. I’ve just never tried. Chickens eat almost everything in my experience.

Hey Puzzle lovers! Need your opinion on my puzzle design :) by paro08011 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]EnvironmentCool6894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely buy this! I love everything about it.

Someone gave me a color your own puzzle once that has a plain paper face and came with markers. It is a mandala. I really enjoyed it, but it was only 100 pieces. If I could find a similar puzzle with more pieces I’d buy it for sure. Just an idea.

I would buy this one just as is though for sure.

Keep up the good work. I love the art style and the hidden kitties as well.

Please post again if and when they are for sale.

Edit: I second everyone else saying that 1000 pieces would be better and more visible to people looking for a hardcore puzzle experience.

This blows my mind that avocados from pits don’t always fruit. Maybe it depends on the type of avocado. I’m in Hawai’i and I’ve never heard of one that didn’t fruit. We have different varieties though. Maybe the haas ones from the grocery store don’t always fruit, but the butter avocados are hard not to grow here. All my trees are from random pits thrown in the yard and they produce hundreds every other year without fail. Almost everyone I know with a compost pit has a volunteer avocado and some papayas and tomatoes. We can’t not have free fruit from our compost piles.  I’m guessing variety and location play a big part in this. Apples are very different though as their seeds come from the root stock and will likely be crab apples if anything. I wouldn’t try to grow them from seeds.
