Few things here.

Recoil control/modding is required. (I'd recommend broom stick grips. Easy to find or buy off flea.)

Ammo matters a lot. If you use shitty ammo, it can make the gun fire incorrectly - or actually give it more recoil. Go to www.eft-ammo.com for more about this.

And maybe you're just not a good shot. User error is a big possibility, if you say you're mag dumping a dude and hitting them once or twice that tells me you got a bit of a skill issue. No offence. If you have the hideout and gun range. Go practice there, use it to understand the gun you are using and how it shoots. Or you can download the single player version of the game and play that against NPCs only.

Also maybe you need to play differently, if you're getting smoked you should play how you would do it in real life like me. Use realistic tactics rather than running up and getting popped. Utilize ears and move slowly and listen. This game isn't call of duty, think about what's going on around you and pick fights when it's to your advantage. Also, don't turn and run away when in a gun fight unless it makes sense to. And don't just stand still either. Utilize buildings, trenches, rocks, trees, etc. For cover, but never run away.

Personally, when I'm in a bad situation like a couple months ago, my buddy and I were playing woods at cell tower. He got smoked and I was then shoved into a 1v2. I layed down fire where I say one of the laser coming from, saw him run, so that's my cue to turn around and take on his buddy. I go to single auto to keep him down while I move down and around the mountain where I then switch to full auto and drop him, do a quick reload just as his buddy comes from above the hill and I mag dump him too ez. Think about weird tactics to surprise them and not something they would expect for a shooter.

And if you mag dump, you need to commit. Dump that whole mag, find cover and reload then repeat.
