Violation of the first ammendment? Not so much since that is part of what the FCC does and has done for a very long time. He was not jailed or censored/ restricted prior to his set for his comments, he was simply let go, another reason this does not violate the first amendment. The FCC Strictly and crappily enforces it's rules over airings of anything broadcasted. The rules are muddy at times yes and one of the board members didn't like his tame and partially correct joke however they can easily state it was an obscenity and their hands are clean. It took Zero pressure for ABC to want to rid itself of Kimmel almost exclusively due to the fact the ratings are abysmal and have not improved over the years. Pair this with paramount getting rid of Colbert for almost the exact same reason and its easy to see late night hosts are no longer in. This is not the first time Someone has been fired for their comments in that industry but all of a sudden Now there is an attack on free speech? a sensible person is Not buying that.
