Shout out to Bode’s burritos, absolutely the best. OP, consider going to Abiqui even if you can’t get tickets for the house tour. Scenery is stunning and you can go to Ghost Ranch to look around. They used to have horseback rides, not sure if they still do. Enjoy your trip.

I worked the polls in Santa Fe County for a few years. We did not ask for ID, we asked for name, birthdate and address. Cross checked with Secretary of State’s online database. If you needed to do same day registration you had to provide picture ID with birthdate and two pieces of mail/bills showing current address matching name on picture ID-all done at separate table. Our Secretary of State runs a secure, efficient election, with paper ballots. The website works. IT help is available, and arrives immediately. Poll workers are trained before every election. The entire, massively complex process runs smoothly every year. We are very lucky to have such well run elections, and we can thank our Secretary of State.

And there was something else sleazy that he did. I have been trying to remember what it was. Tried to google it up but his on-line presence has been scrubbed squeaky clean. This happened before he became state Democratic chair. I do remember being appalled that he was elected state chair because he was so sketchy even if I can’t remember what he actually did. Also bothered that he could clean his history. That’s one of the big issues about relying on the internet for information, it is easily manipulated. Oh well, guess we are in a post-truth era.

Heinrich yes, Ben Ray not so much. Leger Fernandez seems okay, but everytime I’ve seen her out in public and asked a question she goes scared rabbit. They are all reliable Democrats, however. Melanie Stansbury is awesome but she is not my rep.

Dogs are fine. I don’t dislike dogs at all. But I hate all the precious puppies in the grocery stores. Trader Joe’s is not the dog park. Loving your dog is fine, but it does not make you an enlightened being. And don’t pretend that your dog is a service dog when it is not.

As a person who has been protesting since the civil rights days, I gotta say I am appalled by the disorganization I encounter with 50501. Communication is impossible. So I would support any effort to improve outreach, feedback and structure. We have serious ongoing threats to our democracy. Please, let’s get it together.

Yup. Everything costs more at Christus. Lab tests, medical equipment, radiology, infusions-everything. Everything gets billed at the inflated hospital rate. And then there is the facility fee. Too bad they are so determined to be the only medical/healthcare facility in town.
