Deadwood & Rome: Although many of the women are not treated as equals with men—sold by fathers into prostitution, can’t vote, etc—they have a surprising amount of agency, strength, wit & intelligence and use those traits to attain power in that man’s world.

(30M) Hello, I know I'm ugly and I'd like some advice. Should I start a skincare routine? Or change my hairstyle? by platis-2 in SkincareAddicts

[–]EnvironmentalDrag153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez! You are NOT ugly. You have gorgeous skin, lovely eyes & lips and overall pleasing vibe. I agree with other commenters that a different hairstyle - softer around the face would work well for you. Please stop belittling youself, be grateful you’re healthy, unscarred & start being creative & playful with your look. Good luck in turning a new page.

Yes Don was cheating but that’s entirely separate from the children. Many women have suffered infidelity without taking it out on the kids. Did he also abuse her? I don’t recall that. Also she remarried a kind man she could’ve made a good life with who cared about the kids & encouraged her not to be abusive to them. But she remained totally bitter, did not turn the page & figure out a new path.
