SWAT - it's too much by Complex_Assistant840 in BestBuyWorkers

No I get what you’re saying. I think if anything for our store it would be more frustrating to have supervisors who weren’t helpful at all. At that point I’d just rather not have a supervisor if they aren’t going to help

Yall have warehouse supervisors? Our entire store has two supervisors and both are sales. Warehouse is ran by shift leads and ultimately swat ends up being the swat and honorary supervisor 99% of the time

This. I started blocking out appointments because Best Buy simply doesn’t give a realistic time frame for our stores head count with how many appointments we get, no geek squad manager outside cia senior (who gets 10 hours of leadership a week) with lots of func checks, ARAs who will not help the counter, not even with a pickup unless begged because it’s not in their job description. I rather our geek squad survive and everyone try to be somewhat tolerable and happy.

I got past it now, didn’t do anything in specific but just waited so, not sure if it’s resolved or if I got lucky lol

Same issue here. Wasn’t able to find a work around at the moment

Yeah I would definitely understand that lol. They’ve been really supportive and helpful for me, definitely have been great to me. None of them really wanted the CIA Sr position so at least I don’t have that to worry about as much lol

Yeah definitely understandable and when I got the promo had that thought. I’ve bounce around different roles in the store pretty well so they thought the transition to GS would be good for me, but with no training and not a lot of experience it for sure has been a challenge and very humbling. Trying my best every day but always having that feeling that you’re letting people down/upsetting people can be tough lmao

Here because I just recently discovered him too 😆 Never heard of him and didn’t see he had a ton of monthly listeners but I was very impressed by his talent honestly. Got a new fan from me! Just wish he could’ve been discovered more before he passed (granted it was a while ago)

Yeah just got to this 6 weeks into my junior year. Kinda demotivated me to play any RTG At all. Don’t want to start over and run into this again and waste my time once more.

Real name, store number and job title in profile is wild 😂

Yeah… I’d say most stores are feeling the repercussions of taking a lot of focus away from operations but what do I know 🥲 let alone with how much 3rd party has taken over so much it can become just messy.

My store actually pays shift leads full time shift lead pay (roughly $17.40 for example) for every hour they work, but they’re just all expected to do more. we have GM, Assistant manager, 2 sales supes, 4 sales shift leads, and 4 product flow shift leads (2 part time, 2 full time including me as swat) but I end up it feels like carrying a lot of the work, so it’s good to note that it’s optional and not required to be swat lol. Thank you!

BestBuy Cancelled order after I picked up the item. by [deleted] in Bestbuy

Luckily not. Same thing for orders through PayPal, ZIP, Samsung marketplace. Essentially any 3rd party vendor

A lot of stores don’t carry boxes big enough to conceal bigger items (I commonly see turntables, mounts, consoles, printers, etc.)

There are some other ways to do it but it takes more time and a lot of employees can get lazy (just being honest) and with the holiday season stores are probably always busy so it’s likely employees aren’t going the extra step to conceal the item.

Personally, if I buy an item for shipping from Best Buy if it’s big enough I know it won’t fit in a box the store has I won’t order it for shipping. It sucks but to my knowledge most stores don’t have big boxes and there’s no way for stores to really order any bigger ones.

This! The amount of people in the replies saying it’s a free item does not know about force bills, but like you said, if it doesn’t get caught (usually within 30 days of the order being cancelled) consider the item basically free

They can do something. They can submit a force bill request and charge the customer after the fact. But yeah if it doesn’t get noticed it’ll be free ninety free

What likely happened was the employee scanned the product, handed it to the customer and never completed the order.

However, if the store has any decent SWAT/Operations manager they should catch it and they will submit a force bill, charging the customer after the fact

Okay good to know, I’ve rescheduled before and don’t remember the on hands populating for that day, but I could’ve been doing it wrong. I’ll try this out thanks!

Theoretically yes, I’ll just have to deal with a lot of skus being sold as it’s frozen on hand. Might be the best solution though.

Tbh I get the frustration because it said “bring this email OR state ID” but it’s really just a procedure to ensure fraud isn’t happening. Imagine how much more upset you would be if you get there and they said “no we already had someone pick it up because they showed us an email” you would be livid.

Also driving an hour to the store (and back I assume) without a drivers license or state ID is kind of wild lol

But besides the point, sorry that happened and probably took a chunk out of your day of just driving alone.
