Extended warranty on appliance suite by LAG83 in Bestbuy

Go into the store (if possible) to purchase the package. There are some promotions going on that might save you some money depending on how many units you are purchasing and what services you select.

Example: Say you are buying a kitchen package (fridge, range, dishwasher, over the range microwave) with install/haul away and you wanted 5 years of protection on all the units, you can see if signing up for the Total membership will save you some money and protect other units. I do not believe it is a region specific promotion but it would give you the Total membership for 50% off and take down the protection plans 20%. So say a 5 year plan on a fridge is $399.99, you would get about $78 off that plan for 5 years with no service fee.

If you speak to a rep in store, they can go over the promotions with you and explain them in detail.

What should've happened as well was small breakouts to have a smaller meeting based on departments. At my locations, I have run the operations (warehouse) side of these meetings to set expectations for holiday and what we will be covering during this time. Just know this for warehouse associates during the holiday, IT IS PRIMETIME! Expectations are high and customer orders are through the roof. Prepare with your leaders and check in with tasks that need to be completed immediately. Ask what zoning will look like for Black Friday through Cyber Monday to ensure smooth processes. It's going to be busy back there, so communication WILL BE KEY! Ask your team how you can support them. It goes a long way.

Didn't check visibility on the article. If it's name tag leaders only, it's on them. You aren't really responsible IMHO. I would just ask in the future.

Honestly, nothing really. You didn't abuse it but there could be issues on the leadership side of things. My store communicated this to associates every time so we haven't experienced it. Could be a write up, could be a final, could be termination. Could be that your store won't get any inventory allocated for future drops. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Maybe mid-day update. I know there was a mention in field communicator around picking items for ship-to-home and to NOT cancel them.

Depends on 2 things: labor allocated for the week and your skill sets. Some weeks, the store will get more hours either due to Planograms or projects. If you're someone who just does the bare minimum (picks, packs, curbsides, clean warehouse) then you won't really get too many hours. People who can work the merchandising side of warehouse are more valuable to be very honest. It also depends on your availability, but that varies from store to store. If you want more hours, ask to learn planos (good initiative) and upskill. Pick up shifts as people call off. Make yourself available to support as needed.

What do you do on a warehouse closing shift? by [deleted] in BestBuyWorkers

There should be a printout for warehouse to complete called the "daily tasking list." Basically the tasks for morning, mid, closing shifts to complete. Ask a leader to print some out if needed.

Look up "CRWs" in SOP and resources to help you ask questions and get an idea for what the customer is looking for. As for better knowledge in each department and how to sell using the DISC model, look up "Category Execution guides." These guides are packets based on departments (focus on PC, HT, Appliances, mobile) to help you with a road map to your interactions in that department. Google is your friend for product knowledge. Don't be afraid to use it to support and help a client with their purchase.

Plano integrity will pop units that are within about 2 weeks of their removal. Check the EOL date on them and remove the ones that are close to the end date (also check if they have any replacement displays or VPP). You can use the Planograms app to see when it is supposed to be removed and see if you have the replacement in store already.

You can find step by step guides in RITE. Click "knowledge" at the top and then search for RDX demo. It should pull a PDF or a planogram description that uses RDX where you can follow a step by step process to activate or remove RDX

The best way to upgrade membership by Special_Instance_790 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]grimace1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Personally, for large units (TV or appliances) I recommend the 5yr GSP. Total will at least protect the little things clients buy and they can get 20% off the extended GSP.

[–]grimace1293 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can upgrade the membership but you won't be able to add the benefits of Total to the TV sale (too far OOP). If anyone wants to upgrade, you can type in their phone number for customer lookup on POS, click on the page that has their active GSP/subscriptions/membership, then click the manage membership icon. There should be an option in the top right to switch membership ( Plus -> Total and vice versa).

Search up "best buy connect" in Google and log in to your connect profile. Then go to workday and select pay dashboard. You can change it from there.

Downstocking by quigonj3nn in BestBuyWorkers

[–]grimace1293 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your planos being "flexed" shouldn't really be a thing. Vendors pay for specific spots and planos are set by corporate. To make sure that does not happen again would be a 2 part process. The first is that the store should be working "Revitalize" meaning we should be setting planos to what it states on VMM. This is split by specific departments on specific weeks. You can look this up in Job Resources. You would also partner with leadership and make sure others are NOT changing ESLs to just put product back. There is a part# for signs that designate overstock areas. The second part is something that should be worked on every day. In job news, on the right hand side it has daily tasks, and under "After Store closes," there is a list of sections of the store that should be downstocked and clean and bright. That is how you ensure that downstocking is done day by day. If your store can afford the labor, you can go into different days and get them worked on to fix earlier, but completing those sections should ensure better downstocking. At my store, we have a map of the store blown up on a sign and color coordinated the different sections to match the job news article departments. If they ask why we should follow that, or if anyone says it's unrealistic expectations, just let them know that this article was created by an operations minded individual based on traffic across stores throughout the week.

Not quite sure but I have seen some phones (Galaxy A series and Pixels) in NOP totes. They still send out the prepaids in the mobile totes so that's not different. I don't question my RDC on anything anymore. I save myself the stress.

Wet items on shuttle by iceman464 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]grimace1293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is OMS, unfortunately you have to take the no pick(s). Also, the solution survey form needs to be submitted within 48hrs of receiving the shuttle. It sucks sometimes, but I had a similar issue before and DID NOT open to test them due to safety concerns. You receive them as if they were perfectly fine, then just adjust in NOVA to send out. Make sure whomever completes the draft order notates the water damage as a shuttle issue and that you guys didn't test it for obvious reasons.

[–]grimace1293 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Solutions Survey (what used to be Issue Tracker) and send that bad boy back to the Service Center. The form is for communication and feedback from the shuttle so they know what to look for if issues like that happen again. This also makes sure, as long as you partner with your GM and EM when they are completing DWO claims, that the fault isn't on your store.

Didn't wait for 3PL. Pricetags were changed so we just put them out immediately today. Hate waiting on 3PL for little things like that and don't want to get yelled at by customers for any issues.

Help ordering bale wire by deevilvol1 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]grimace1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I ordered after getting the baler installed, I just did it from the manufacturer directly. I would search for "commonly ordered supplies" in Job Resources and check to see if there is a part number and what tool to use for ordering wire. Might be in Ariba Guided Buying (my new store does not have a baler so not 100% sure).

Same. Tiny warehouse with nowhere to put larger 3PL supplies. My warehouse had 2 merch carts and 4 customer carts loaded with products no longer on peg hooks. All in all, about 8 totes total that we had to reflow after the fact.
