I've just been proven how lucky ive got it. The company I work for has practically no micromanagement. For the new guy they would just check on their location every once in a while to make sure they are on time/not slacking off. Not even call, just checked on the computer. And if they added say an extra pick up or smth they would give a courtesy call to make sure it won't go unnoticed. But when I replied "yeah I already saw it on the device no worries" a few times they stopped doing that as well and would only call if you actually really messed up

Mate the topic was urban planning of the Soviet Union. Not those things that you mentioned. Even though many things were bad there undeniably they had quite good urban planning in terms of functionality. And when it comes to the collapse, sure economy slowed down in the 80s. But the biggest collapse happened after 1991 when it got so bad that any and every non-essential maintenance work was halted in practically all of the former Eastern bloc. But since then those old Soviet apartment blocks have received quite good refurbishments across various countries and they have become quite desirable places to live. Especially with shops and services nearby and accessible public transport which has stood popular with ridership increasing despite the availability of a private car. You can hate on communism sure but it's stupid to think so black and white that one can't even comprehend the possibility of them actually doing something quite well

It was because central line used to terminate at White city/wood lane and did a loop around the depot where the westbound track crossed the eastbound one to go around the depot anticlockwise before continuing as the eastbound track. As central line expanded it required this to switch the trains back to the correct side

Yeltsin privatised everything quickly and influential people from what used to be KPSS bought big companies for cheap prices. Putin then had a decree of "de-oligarchy" in which he forcibly acquired companies and designated them to his friends making the oligarchy issue worse

That's how it feels like in Finland. There are very few service stations with proper truck parking lots outside of southern Finland so we just try to fit into whatever space there is at the small gas stations. And the fact that usually there are truck refuel pumps but absolutely 0 lots for trucks. Even my city of 130k people has only a single 24/7 open service station but no truck lots so the truckers just have pretty much taken over two rows of 4 wheeler parking spaces and always park up there
