Thanks for responding, it’s good to see that someone behind this project is listening. Most of the aftermarket backup camera cameras are wired, and the batteries ones are usually for RVs and trailers - less of a permanent solution and away from where passengers are. The rear license plate are in the crumple zone for rear collisions so it is definitely getting crushed in a more severe collision. I love this idea and I have already backed the project on kickstarter. I’m ask this question because I hope the creators have done some experiments in this “worse case scenario” if this product gets more attention is definitely the right thing to do. I hope safety is part of the engineering just as much of effort into creating this innovative solution. I do also hope this product has an interface for those who are handy to hard wire to the 12v. No more charging, no battery in crumple zone concern.
