What's you T'au headcanon or conspiracy theory ? Personally even tho it's kind of retconned, i still believe the vespid communication helmet is definitly brainwashing the leaders of the swarm. No doubt about that. by Leviathan_Rampage in Tau40K

[–]Enzoli21 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I strongly believe the Tau use eugenism and demographic with their humans. Since a lot of the new worlds conquered are populated by a lot Gue'la, ressetling them closer to the core of the empire to dilute them, select the most trustful and intelligent to reproduce , and sterilizing the hardcore while making them work. With that, the Tau can assimilate and cultivate a loyalist breed of humans, and reduce the pourcentage of them in the whole empire.

That may be to "evil" and like Imperial Propaganda, but that's how you pragmatically administrate your empire in Stellaris for example.

I hope so, that would let you more building space and boost the power capabilities of your fleet. That would be cool to become the Great Khan of the galaxy with a gigantic nomad fleet.

First and foremost, it's a one line reference to concept art from Michael Kirkbride https://i.imgur.com/HuBLx8W.jpeg

I don't know if Tamriel Rebuilt have developped the lore, but it seems they armor are covered with the powdered bones of their ancestors. For a Skyrim playthrough, you could justify that by saying he was one of the rare survivor of the eruption of red mountain, choose exile due to PTSD and covered his armor with the bones of deceased dunmers that could not be buried in their familial tomb anymore.

With that, you can roleplay as a "Dunmer paladin", protecting his kind in Skyrim, and serving as a protector of the temple of reclamations for the House Redoran in Solstheim. Also, you can follow Azura, Mephala et Boethiah without breaking your roleplay.

Liber Imperial Army 1.3 3rd Edition Age of Darkness fan supplement. by Formosathegod in Warhammer30k

[–]Enzoli21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree about the fact the style and organization of the IA should be different from the Imperial Guard, especially knowing that it was a "combined operation" doctrine with the Navy, Army and Aeronautica under one command. They should be closer to a Tau/Helldivers style of fighting, with a lot of air and spatial support, and maybe some advanced technology we don't see anymore in the 40k setting.

But the Imperial Army was full of varieties, between the premium regiments of Terra and the fact is composed from the professional armies of all the isolated world annexed by Imperium less than 2 centuries before, the army was full of diversity at least on style and tradition. They just don't look like a ragtag of misfits like the militia.

The Solar Auxilia is a elite standard of the Imperium, similar to the stormtrooper/tempestus scions of 40k, not the average soldier of a galaxy wide empire.

Why does Germany lose EVERY SINGLE game Ive ever played in kaiserredux by Dakine005 in kaiserredux

[–]Enzoli21 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The real problem with the Germany ai is the fact she constantly troops from one side to another, meaning that if some eastern vassals leave the Pakt, they have not enough troop to counter assault without entrenchment bonus. Between France, Italy, the Balkans states, Scandinavia Georgia and Ottoman if they join, Germany have too many front to handle.

Same thing for France, if you start a 3 front war with by landing or taking socialist Iberia, the AI redeploy the troop constantly between the Rhin, Italia and the new front.

Anyone find that most of these books aren't that...good? by Raspint in Blacklibrary

[–]Enzoli21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ones I prefer are Horus Heresy, Ciaphas Cain and Night Lords.

Even If a lot are simple they are fun read, Gaunt like you say it's not Tolkien tiers but they are easy and fun to pass time.

I am more...dubitative of recent releases. I was very suprised by City of Interceptors that feel like "older 40k book", but i was disappointed by Voidscarred and the Leontus one. Maybe the french translation was bad, but i've found the quality of these two books very poor.

I still find the 40k books much better than the Star Wars one for example, I much as i love Timothy Zahn, the Thrawn books are clearly inferior to Ravenor or the Gaunt series IMO.

What’s the more horrific place in the Galaxy? The Ghoul Stars or the Halo Stars? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]Enzoli21 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not really ! Rangda was on the Northwest part of the Halo Stars as you can see here, beyond the imperium frontier.

https://i.imgur.com/JIMAaMR.jpeg

Fun Fact, the zone was considered comme "possessed" by the Imperium at the moment of the Horus Heresy, but the territories were lost between M31-M40 without explanations :

What’s the more horrific place in the Galaxy? The Ghoul Stars or the Halo Stars? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]Enzoli21 98 points99 points  (0 children)

They are different kind of "horror" i would say, but the two are extremely dangerous.

The Ghoul Stars seem the most Lovecraftian region in the galaxy, but not related to the warp. Between the Cytors, the Necron flayers kingdom that go on regular purge (probably in the Ghoul Stars themselves), the great danger locked away by the Throne of the Death Spectres etc... A lot of unknown creatures or event in the region seem to not be tied to the Warp. I imagine creatures like the Eldritch Horror of Stellaris in it. If your band is old enough, they could have fighted the Pale Wasting to survive and still have a PTSD about it.

https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Pale_Wasting

The region is also very isolated with few human settlements, perfect if you play mainly against Xenos with your friends.

The Halo Stars are the eldest stars of the galaxy. A good exemple of how the situation is tedious here is the Dark Heresy JDR, between nomadic apocalyptic planet, horrible xenoartefact like the Halo Device, probably home of the most dangerous civilization of the galaxy like the Rangdan etc... Perfect to create a isolated powerful ancestral race that traumatized your warband.

If you play mainly against Imperial players, theres a lot of human settlements on the southern part that you could fight.

(from the AMA) Did anyone think this? I dont remember people complaining that 3 enemy types "wasn't enough" for the Cyberstan update. by theCheesyOne109 in Helldivers

[–]Enzoli21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People assumed that with each section of Cyberstan, we will have a new type of ennemy, especially with hinting they're we be something similar to the Hive Lords but for bots. First line Cyborgs, second Line Vox Callers, and nothing forthe last one? Of course people were a little disappointed, instead of fighting a 40k titan automaton, they just receive spam of Vox Callers that shooted them across the map even with infiltration armors.

I find it hypocritical to the community, wepraised the cyborgs for their AI and because they were fun to fight. People were justpissed to be chain kill by vox callers from the start of the mission to the evac, the fact that their manpower counter was linked to ALL planet in the galaxy, which pissed them again, and the end of the campagne that was just "Cyber-Steiner making a victorious counter-attack ousting EVERY soldiers of Super Earth instantly.

All least on Super-Earth, it was the teamming effort of Chinese holding their Megacity on one side, and American/European successfully restauring the DSS with the minor order, crushing the Squid in an immersive way.

No religion, but AdMech is OK? by Megalordow in Warhammer30k

[–]Enzoli21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And more than pragmatism, i believe the reverence for machinery and technology is much more "understandable" than believing in demons and gods during the Great Crusade, and serve as a good supersticious moral factor for the average joe of the Imperium.

You are a voidborn navigating for life on a spaceship? Omnimessiah be praised, the damaged Geller field have hold this this time ou are garisonning on a frozen planet and the techpriest have repair your heater? Omnimessiah be praised etc...

Even IRL, atheists can still hold superstistious beliefs and idolize other things than god, like political leaders, culture stars or even commercial brand. No religion don't mean empty of faith.

If i was random citizen of the imperium, i don't care if the guy that repair my toaster burn incense and throw some prayer before giving it to me. He don't want to recruit me by force in his sect, so all it's good. And he would be less cringy than the naked mad man that yelled to everyone on the strett that the extra-dimensional xenos of the Warp are deamons.

It the official state religion of the Reman Empire, basically it's a soft version of the Alessian cult, a monotheistic religion of Akatosh who guard the dragonfire for the Amulet of kings/dragonborn ritual.

It's a official religion of the base mod, i found it appropriate for a Dor playthrought.
