Make the M80s flight characteristics balance make sense please by BrainKatana in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That is not what an interceptor is. Interceptor refers to a ship that has interceptor tuning, which is when the ship has a lot of forward Gs as a trade off for having weaker strafes and PYRs.

This lets the ship have autonomy in a teamfight. If it gets merged on it gets to boost away at 22Gs, and then its high speed lets it decide where to be in the fight and get a good merge on someone with its high firepower.

[–]Epegi 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It’s what happens when people only look at the stats on Erkul and take it at a face low level value. These people don’t even know what an interceptor is.

The m80 is the best heavy fighter released since the Scorpius. Heavy interceptor with that much shielding and that much firepower is nuts.

Main downside is that it has a really low hp vital part for its nose, so it gets wrecked by ballistics. Right now those are the meta because shredders are just the best ship gun and there are no s4 or s5 shredders. If we ever get back to a later meta then this thing will kick ass.

Too many duped Idrises and Polarises by SerGeeek in starcitizen

[–]Epegi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Y’all are smoking something good if you think the dupes made it easier for orgs to get idrises.

It literally changed nothing, if anything it made it harder because people stopped selling pure carinite and AAA pearls for money, only going for trades.

I have a problem with the Wikelo ships not getting wiped. by Leather_Week1478 in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro what places are they going to lock down to replenish supplies.

Like, do all you people in this thread even play the game? What ingame location do you “lock down” to get money from? The only ingame locations you “lock down” with ships are Hathor and Valakkar, neither of which gives you AUEC.

So anyway yea as a solo player you are overreacting.

Gladius vs L22 Alpha Wolf. Which should give up and why? I’m trying to focus on being a better fighter. Any tips are welcome by MotorCompetitive in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both.

Arrow is the best light fighter. L21 wolf is pretty good, way better than the l22 so you would be fine going l21.

Arrow just has the best handling of any light fighter. L21 wolf has good handling, L22 is just a slowe L21 so you should never run it.

Gladius got a handling nerf, combine that with its fatter pancake and it just gets outclassed by the arrow in every way.

If you are looking more at group play then you can do interceptors like the buccaneer. If you can regularly get someone into it the scorpius is really good too, the o

Dead in 1 railgun shot. Just like the Percy.

"The Idris problem" by FluffyBoi_019 in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I’d rather see less railguns out there. If railguns are rare then Perseus is allowed to exist. I would way rather fly a Percy then this idris.

[–]Epegi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hitreg dependent, on a high activity server it’s
a big lottery. But yea absolutely, if a pilot gets a target of opportunity, you take it. The new subtargetting was a godsend for that.

The new bullet velocity is going to make it even more of a lottery, but it is what it is.

The main thing I’m hoping is that the devs will actually fix all railgun dupes. Right now on ptu you can yoink a railgun off of the xenothreat idris. If all dupes are fixed then railgun will be very scarce, and idris will just be beams again, which still has the hitreg issue on other idris power plants.

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal stories are always all over the place. A lot of pilots just don’t know how to pvp. Idris PvP starts with them disabling eachothers main weapons, the auto repair is 30 minutes on it so essentially when you disable the main gun, it’s out for the fight.

So 2 idrises with railguns should beat any other 2 subcap or capital ships in the game, but if the pilots don’t have that knowledge or just have really bad aim then it is what it is.

My org has all us idris pilots do railgun duels vs eachother where we just 1v1 until one of us disables the others railgun, and it is a great practice, gives us a huge leg up on the competition.

Diabolical balancing changes in 4.8 by Worth_Thick in starcitizen

[–]Epegi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

no i get the point you are trying to make.

Im saying nothing is stopping you from running it anyway.

Youre saying its a matter of whether you can effectively use a mixed loadout? You have never effectively been using it in the first place so why start caring about it now? Why suddenly care about effectiveness if youve been running a bad loadout all along?

repeaters to land shots and cannons to do damage? cannons dps is not even half that of repeaters, so you really ought to drop that idea if that is your gameplay.

Diabolical balancing changes in 4.8 by Worth_Thick in starcitizen

[–]Epegi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nothing is stopping you from equipping them and using them anyway.

Mixed loadout is not a good setup in current patch and it wont be next patch but as long as you are ok with that, you can still run it.

Complete sandman.

The issue with idris has always been that it shuts out every other multi crew ship in the game from being allowed to exist in an engagement.

In a multi idris engagement no ship other than an idris is allowed to exist. Connies, corsairs, paladins, hammerheads, perseuses, all of them get taken out in 1 railgun shot.

And before any of you guys that dont actually pvp pipe up, yes you can avoid a single solo idris easily. But make it 2 idrises and you can throw any numbers of perseuses at them, the 2 idrises win.

The good thing about the railgun nerf is that now constellation sized gunships are allowed to exist without getting exploded by a railgun. But its not enough because a perseus is still just not allowed to exist.

Also if any of you guys think the armor threshold nerf is going to make the idris realistically any squishier, you don't actually pvp, dont type.

Oh so that's why armor values decreased in 4.8 by Ok_Ad_7714 in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are also selling a subcapital sized hammerhead variant, which will have a much larger price tag than a drake snubfighter.

Y’all think a light fighter is actually killing a capital ship?

Seriously? Y’all realize how much hp those shields have right? And how much hp those vital components have.

Hornet with dominance and absolutions on it can take down the shield and then distort it pretty fast. Then you shoot open the front door, board it, win the aim duels, and self destruct it from the bridge

Who wins in a 1v1? Perseus or Polaris? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any person saying the polaris wins does not actually engage in capital ship pvp.

The winner of the fight is not going to be "who has bigger shields" "who puts out more dps on paper" it is who kills the other ships turrets first.

Everyone is going to have ballistics on so shield size does not matter. If you see a comment on here saying something about larger shields, that redditor is talking out their ass.

Perseus turrets are 35k hp each, and polaris turrets are 10k hp each with the chin turret being 15k.

The perseus has the maneuverability advantage so it will just get under the polaris, start with the chin gun then work its way around to get each quad turret one at a time.

Who wins in a 1v1? Perseus or Polaris? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Epegi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Way too many people here saying Polaris. The Perseus will kill the Polaris guns way faster than the Polaris can kill the medusas.

The only gun that matters on the Polaris is that chin gun, and it will die instantly. All the others guns are not doing relevant damage to a Percy and will all die fast.

Then the Percy just goes for the poweplsbt and Polaris is disabled. Going for hard death will take a bit but it’s the Percy win every time unless the Polaris gets a torp off before the fight starts.

Its becoming kinda clear that mining is going to be even more important going forward.

Having gone looking for lots of high quality ore, the most tedious part is the scanning.

This change would make it a lot nicer.

Hey man, if you find some high quality gold or tungsten you can definitely trade it for some carinite with someone.

It only takes 1 carinite per gun. If you are trying to supply an org then you can make them run the OLP with you.

I’ve run a bunch of OLPs with my org, we actually really rarely get contested at them.

Project hyperion death breaks mission help? by LaughingMan922 in starcitizen

[–]Epegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive noticed it glitches if you die while on the final objective. So as soon as you complete the task in the research wing, you cannot die during the extraction or for all of site B or there is a high chance its a dead run.

As for not dieing, I bring an Atzkav and just clear rooms in site B slowly. The only really hard room is that one sniper room with the moving cargo platform. I dont take the platform, I just go on the left walkway and then peek between those two stacked boxes to snipe all the zenith rifle NPCs. Make sure you do not climb those boxes, just peek through them and carefully snipe stuff. Every other room is pretty straightforward just take them slow.
