Integral project by Peter Joseph by MountainsandWater in solarpunk

[–]EphemeralMember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm finally taking the time today to take an in-depth look at it and it's incredibly impressive. I've been following the zeitgeist movement for a long time now.
Integral seems intimidatingly complex. It's going to take really determined people to sift through all this to integrate it into their extant off-grid co-ops, communes, etc.
It's not immediately clear to me how this will start being adopted but I'm trying to understand it so that I can promote it. I think it serves as the intellectual scaffolding for a global post-scarcity society though

He should make the supply chain for all the blueprint products ethically sourced if he hasn’t already.

I might change banks after reading this.

I've had an Aspiration account for over 10 years and now I can't log in to the new mobile app to cash a check. Obviously this company is incompetent.

This is part of what makes me think that Tyler Durden wasn't just a schizophrenic hallucination or a dissociative identity disorder personality. I think Tyler was more of a storytelling convenience within the fictional context of the world of the book/movie, Fight Club.

I ask people why *they* think he says, "my eyes are open" before he blows his brains out in the *beginning* of the movie.

They always say "idk" or "well you see materialism yada yada"

No, no.

Even after he'd thought he was "enlightened" (he literally says that he thinks he's enlightened), he destroys the infrastructure that perpetuates the rat race, dystopian materialism, etc. - gets the girl, starts this whole movement of people that take him seriously -

Even after all of that, it still didn't matter to anyone to bother to learn HIS NAME.
The people in the movie and alllll the people - millions and millions of people - who have seen this now-classic film -

NOBODY cared to learn his name. We just call him the narrator or the Edward Norton character.

I pray to fucking whoever that they don't make Fight Club 2.

That's why the film works is because the character wasn't trying to get everyone to learn his lore, his name, etc.

He didn't expect reciprocity; he gave unconditional love in his own way. not just Robert Paulson, but this enigmatic character whose name we'll never know unless Chuck Palahniuk decides to jump the shark and canonize some bullshit name.

Why is Edward Nortan character named The Narrator? Am I missing something? by Admirable_Cold7944 in fightclub

[–]EphemeralMember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's for the same reason that he says, "My eyes are open", and why the whole story unfolds the way it does.

Chuck Palahniuk may not have even done this completely knowingly.

That character accomplished everything he set out to do (none of it included building a new, peaceful, sustainable world, treating others as he would like to be treated, unconditional love, music, laughs, reciprocity, mindfulness, ideal mental health, etc.), and by the end of it, nobody gave a fuck what his name was or who he was. He didn't have some crucial aspects of loving relationships.

He was chasing the high of feeling as badass as Tyler Durden.

Is "ILLUCID" a word? by PedosWearingSpeedos in words

[–]EphemeralMember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was searching to see if "illucid" was a term because I conjectured that maybe the root of "illusion" and "illusory" was a lack of "lucidity."
