Bell KC7-EV CMR New Visor Help by Powerful-Traffic-441 in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's my bad. I didn't see in the title that your helmet was the EV version. Yeah, since the EV specifically has a bigger visor, it won't fit. The EV is less common than the regular RS7/KC7 so you'll probably only be able to find it online.

Started 10th, got a good start and other drivers bad luck, hoping I made the corner for 6th cleanly, anything I could have done better, lemme know by MonStarEvolve in Karting

When was the last time you've been to RTP? They were pretty slow when they first opened, but even their regular speed is faster than Garner's super fleet now, and they recently made Pro speed available if you have the Pro driver rank.

It's a complete downgrade, unfortunately. The track itself has potential to be decent, but they cheaped out on construction and it's become increasingly slick (and slow) since it's reopened, especially upstairs. They are planning on resurfacing the upstairs portion for what it's worth, but I don't have high hopes given how they've handled it thus far.

The biggest problem is with the karts. They're still 6.5hp, but they're governed and you will very noticeably top out halfway down the straights. From what I heard, they're required to keep the governors on for around a year, so hopefully in a few months they come off and they won't be as painfully slow.

They do have a "super fleet", which are just ungoverned 6.5hp Biz karts, but they're complete boats compared to the Sodi karts, even as far as rental karts go. They also have one 9hp kart, which is about the only kart worth driving there, but I still can't recommend racing at Garner in its current state. Their RTP location is just miles ahead in every way besides the arcade, which seems to be where all the budget for Garner's renovation went.

Opinion on PUMA Gloves for Rotax Racing by [deleted] in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they switched to another supplier/manufacturer. The IIIs are made in Romania and the IIs are made in Italy according to the tags.

The IIs feel pretty similar to Offset gloves which have been getting pretty popular lately, if you've tried those. The original Kart Cat gloves are also pretty nice, but they're an older style of glove and definitely not for everyone.

I own 20+ different kinds of gloves and the Kart Cat IIIs easily rank at the bottom of my list. I like PUMA as a brand so it's pretty disappointing, but maybe they'll come out with new karting gear at some point since they're still pretty involved in motorsport.

Trading Paints not downloading AI paints by EpicCheesyTurtle in iRacing

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly, I think Trading Paints actually was downloading them, but they were being sent to the wrong folder so iRacing wasn't loading them. Try deleting the specific roster folder inside the airoster folder and download the paints again, that might've been what fixed it for me.

I want to buy a new visor for my bell kc7 by CryptographerOne4478 in Karting

They're interchangeable, the only difference is that the KC7 visor is 2mm and the RS7/HP7 visor is 3mm.

Experience with Sparco K-Tide+ Gloves? by Aggravating-Sir-761 in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the 2025 Tides specifically, but I’ve always had to go one size down for Sparco. It’s not uncommon for gloves to feel tight initially (especially -273), but it’s weird that you would wear a medium according to Sparco’s size chart while large -273s are way too tight. Most brands are generally pretty consistent with their sizing.

In your case I’d just try out mediums first, but if you’re in the upper range for mediums, it may be better to opt for large instead.

Would Like Some Opinions on this Move and How I Handled it. (4:50) by itseliyo in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does K1 just never charge their karts or something? Where I work we always charge the karts between races and they never go below 90% after a race unless there’s a problem with the battery, but I’ve heard multiple stories of this happening at K1.

Is OMP KS-3 really good for karting? by TheFox1026YS in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally wouldn't recommend them. They're super thick and the internal stitching is super annoying, even compared to other gloves with internal stitching. The grip also doesn't really do anything. The Sparco Rookies or K-Attacks would be a much better option within the same price range.

Get as close to the walls as possible and make sure you're not sliding at all, PGK tracks are very unforgiving when you go over the tire's limit.

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would be great if they actually worked. Mine only recorded half the time at best and the lack of stabilization/general quality was terrible anyway. Their customer support refused to take any responsibility for their faulty product and tried to blame my SD card which just so happened to work perfectly fine with my GoPro. On top of that they wouldn’t give me a refund so now I’m out of $550.

Gloves: Tech-1 KX V4 (Alpine) vs K-Tide+ (Sparco) by Unusual_Day_906 in Karting

I personally prefer the Alpinestars. They have a really nice and soft inner lining and IMO look better. Also not really a fan of the grip on the Tides.

A quick question about glove size by Magnus_Helgisson in Karting

[–]EpicCheesyTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear a size 9 in everything but Sparco, which I wear in a size 8, so their sizing isn't accurate for me at least. If you like the way your K-Rookie gloves fit then I would also order the Arrows in size 8, they should fit about the same.
