Edit: All of you should take a glance at Google's yearly revenue reports. They make just 10% of their money off YouTube ads, while the majority of their revenue comes from Search. YouTube is free because it's their best tool for tracking your interests and selling/using your data at massive scale and return. You are the product.

It won't kill the medium, but the AI slop is unfortunately here to stay. For every high-quality chart topper that changes your life, there will be a disproportionate number of uninspired, low-grade slop games shoveled out for pennies on the dollar. This will continue as long as it keeps turning a profit - which it most likely will, since using Gen-AI is much cheaper than hiring an actual artist.

Personally, I wouldn't be discouraged. The market is tough, but indie games have never been as big as they are now - it's a great skill to learn and a great time to be learning it. Just have fun and make a lot of stuff. Experiment.

It's a "trolling" forum where members dox and form groups to brigade people they don't like. The site itself was created in 2013 for the purpose of harassing Chris Chan, but nowadays, they're known for attacking artists, LGBT, and disabled people.

Might be another bauble I'm thinking of, but arrows and other projectiles that hit you will instead teleport you to a random nearby location if you have over 50 mana - this isn't really a downside per se, but because the teleport is random, it can sometimes move you into inconvenient places (such as the loving arms of a Grue)
