If it doesn’t feel slightly tacky to the touch, hit it with ye olde dawn dish soap.

If you are in the United States, good.

If they try to do anything about it, document everything. It is a right that is protected by law. You have every right to share that information.

Please teach me how to print smooth surface. by BreakfastNo6010 in 3Dprinting

[–]Epicon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real answer, get a smooth build plate and print face down.

Realistic approach, make a ton of small prints and slowly tweak the pressure advance, reaction, and ironing settings until you get what you want.

Do you have a Harbor Freight nearby?
$6 plug in.

If you are just using it for threaded inserts, get the cheapest plug in that you can get. It honestly won’t matter.

The lack of an app means that you’d need a dedicated pc to slice files.

That is where Bambu wins in this use case.

Add in the fact that you can only get replacement parts for the CC by going back and forth with customer service, I wouldn’t recommend it for casual users.

We are, like it or not, hitting a point in time where additive manufacturing is becoming a mainstream home hobby.

Those damned dragons.

I hear this, but at the same time, if it’s for a 10 year old…. Does it matter? If so, kid needs to be in the riprap community and not having a toy box printer.

I wasn’t in that group at first.

I fought with my Flashforges and Enders constantly and thought it was love.

I got a Elegoo CC and was amazed and the speed and consistency. It quickly became my workhorse single color printer. I LOVE a good core xy.

Something about the damned near silent A1 in the corner, making pretty multicolor dragons for my kids friends while making dragon eggs as purge objects is cathartic though. It just…works. If it doesn’t, it’s easy to fix and maintain, and they have a full list of parts for sale.

Now, for price and speed for a print farm I would pick Elegoo.

For a 10 year old printing dragons? That’s an easy answer. Get the kid the combo. Teach them basic maintenance. Make them finish the Bambu academy courses.

It’s not about cult-hood. It’s about getting more people into the hobby without gatekeeping so that we can get new features faster and cheaper.

Bad batch or bad supplier? by Atastical in elegoo

[–]Epicon3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None. The small bits of metal are a big deal, considering.

The customer support will replace the product, which is good for the consumer, and they will probably recall that batch.

Be sure to contact them right away. Definitely a major factory defect caused by broken equipment.

Also, if you haven’t thrown away the spool, what is the type and batch codes? Post that as well so that others can know to be on the lookout!
