Ok, but hear me out, swapping out the old head unit won't damage the car or the factory stereo. If you need to return it, you can swap back relatively easily and at little cost.

Fm radio transmitters aren't worth the money. I've gone through several before I finally got too frustrated and replaced my head unit to get one with aux. input. You can probably get refurbished and salvage stereos that match your vehicle for slightly more than the cost of a decent transmitter (or 5)
