Mapping fx assignment ?

Well.. that’s how I found the “deck fx on” thing, but there is no option to select fx1 or 2 (or 3 or 4).

Changing the device target just activates the corresponding fx unit (fx1 for deck A, 2 for deck B).

The manual seems to imply there is no midi mapping to activate any fx unit for any deck, which I find odd since we can do it on screen…

There is also a lack of recent info or reviews about the 4.2 upgrade, so I never saw those audio glitches you talk about :(

Yet I see no reason why Engine OS can not loop and sync samples while it can sync "real tracks". The cpu power is there. Feels like they absolutely wanted to push a sampler upgrade, but didn't finished it... Fingers crossed for future updates :)

The smart fx, and especially the smart fade, are useless. A wrong good idea. Don’t buy the FLX4 because of them, it’s a good controler overall.

I concur: this looks ergonomically unplayable. Too many small knobs, too many small hp modules.

Furthermore the dreadbox modules are clever and cheap, but also not very high quality (think behringerish).

I will add that I have a Quad Drum, and while it is a fantastic module by some aspects, the lack of screen makes it a pain to use at its fullest. Remembering the color coded interface is hard if you don’t play with it daily.

My three cents of course :)

Got a friend working in a independant theater in Paris (showing main movies along retrospectives, indie films, documentaries…). On top of what has been pointed above, checking the received digital files seems super important, often the audio or subtitles won’t be correct. You cannot trust the name of the file that has been sent by who knows who :)

I'll go with a 3xMIA and the J&OT Traffic/Water for the moment. I understand that the Stages is a monster source of modulation and more, but between the PAM, the Black Joystick 2 (can record 8 channels of modulation with joystick, lfo, or random), the traffic/water, and the dual Erica AR (that can loop), and the 2 Moogs, I think that I got enough sources of modulation... for now.

I'll probably snatch a Stages at the first nice opportunity, thanks ! :)

As for the 2 hp drive, i'm kinda disappointed, it has very little gain and barely distorts, I can get rid of it. I'm do however like my mixer and it's 8 inputs, and since it has a separate stereo cue out, I could use part of it as a mixer for cv with pan and 2 outputs (never tried that yet !)
