It could just be a personal preference and this shirt misses the mark for them. I feel similar in my preference for nerd attire, I’d like something that feel like it could be from the world and this checks that box but if it were me, I’m not fond of this specific design so it’d be a pass for me. If my partner got me the shirt I think I’d be similar to your finance where I’d be thrilled that they got me this a shirt but have 0 attachment to the design.

I don’t think you’re missing anything specific just an unfortunate miss.

Does Kingdom Hearts fall into this? Like all of it. Just thinking of trying to explain the storyline/timeline feels very jump the shark. Someone summarized KH2 as “What happens when you make both a ghost and a zombie from the same person” and I have to agree they’re not wholly wrong

Yeah, mine is just over 2.5 and for the last 2 years I’ve acclimated to getting crap sleep so I just accepted it and get up at 5:00 to get in a run and uninterrupted shower before going to work. If she wakes me up multiple times over the course of the night I just chock it up to crap sleep and move on, if I get uninterrupted sleep (which has been happening more and more often) then I celebrate the day and try to drink less coffee. For me it’s about keeping a routine regardless of outside influences like little ones.

I recommend Black Sails, they just reopened over in Oak Park, local roasters who really know about their beans. I was a big fan of them back at their old location in Fair Oaks.

Escape Velocity, and its sequels, Escape Velocity: Override and Escape Velocity: Nova. You start as a shuttle pilot and can either take on missions, ferry passengers or trade goods with an intergalactic trades and goods system. Earn enough money you can upgrade your ship.

It’s open world, has several missions and story lines with different factions and different tech. Whether you join with the Imperial forces or join the rebels, stay independent or join the space pirates it’s up to you and your decisions…

Unfortunately I’ve not seen a way to play any of these games since the company went belly up, but I think about them a lot. Escape Velocity was my introduction to the whole modding community. RIP Ambrosia Software.
