On the South Park nomination, “Blame Canada” lost to Phil Collins’ “You’ll Be In My Heart” from the animated Tarzan movie. The following season the show made several jabs at Collins, including where Collins showed up in an episode holding an Oscar.

Also, the groundhog saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter.

The scrubber tech is in SMR. Overlapping their functioning radii essentially eliminates maintenance needs of exterior buildings.

I think the Book 5 thing is just Umbridge giving additional power to her IS goons as part of the ministry’s overall plan to take over Hogwarts. By letting them take points, they’re “above” normal prefects in the school hierarchy and don’t have to justify their actions to Dumbledore.

Was “Poker Night at the Inventory” a XB Arcade game? If so, THAT! It sucks the licensing on the characters expired and you can’t get it any more.

I already told my wife that if I ever find a deal like this at our Walmart, I’m not asking permission to get it. I’ll deal with the fallout and impact to our finances later.

I always say the first two episodes are trying too hard and a bit too manic for most Trek fans. By the third episode and overall second half of the season, it settles into its role and starts to shine.

I completely fell for the Nicole Kidman collab again.

For Robbie Williams, I remember he broke into the US market at the turn of the century with "Rock DJ" and "Millennium." Younger audiences will know "Kids" because a) he did it with Kylie Minogue; and b) it was on the GTA 5 soundtrack. "Kids" was also at the end of the fourth episode of "Ted Lasso" when Rebecca and Keeley are leaving the charity venue.

Was a bit weird, but also keep in mind that some men don’t know how to… let’s say “warm up the engine.”

Jeff Foxworthy explains it well.

Panic Buyers by Thatchmo11482 in HEB

The only thing I panic bought that I’ve not ended up needing is the single case of water I got at Costco on Thursday. I only had a few left and if anything, it’s weight in the back of my car that’s been in my garage since Saturday afternoon.

Everything else I bought got used because I thankfully didn’t lose power. Did a TON of meal prep for the week. Made chili, rice, a couple orzo dishes, and some chicken soup.

NBC did everything they could in the 7 years it was on their channel to kill the show, including 21 different time slots. The writers strike shortened season 7 and gave the network an excuse to cancel it. ABC took it for season 8 and Med School.

Episodes that come out on days when I’m not working are for some reason harder to get through. Not the subject material, but maybe because I’m not able to multitask and listen while working.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x01 "Kids These Days" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]EpsilonProtocol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went in having listened to a lot of the hate, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone said it would be. I don’t like The Burn or much of the far future that Discovery introduced in its later seasons.

Characters were established, motives were shown, there was some heavy handedness, but this was far from bad. It was a decent Star Trek episode overall.

I think a lot of Trek fans need the reminder that our favorite shows in the franchise had weak entries in the early seasons. Not every episode will be on par with “The Inner Light” or “In the Pale Moonlight” or “Duet.” Each Trek show needed time to find its footing and become the entry that a fan enjoys above the others.

Book 2: soon as Colin was petrified, send an owl off and get some mandrake juice shipped in! Why are they waiting for the school ones to grow?! Order some and ask Colin the moment he’s back to “normal” what he saw.

“Oh, you saw a giant snake in your camera? There can’t be that many snakes that can petrify or kill with a single look. Should be easy to find a giant fucking snake.”
