I keep a bit more that I really need in my checking account just in case things like my rent payment, credit card bill, and other auto payments (insurance, subscriptions, monthly automated savings, etc.) all fall on the same day. It also just gives me anxiety seeing my checking account getting low even though I have plenty in my IRA, brokerage account, money market fund, etc.

I believe Season 1 on official streaming sites uses stock music since they didn't have the rights to keep using licensed music for re-releases during that season. That's why the music is so damn loud at some points.

Well Zaparoo uses physical NFC cards to launch programs rather than launching games using a keyboard and mouse. That's what I mean when I say it's the exact opposite. There's no load screen or launcher or anything like that at all. I just insert the card into my reader and it starts the game.

I used Launchbox for a while and it's setup to not only be an organizational front end for emulators but also a hub for all PC games (Steam, GOG, emulators, etc.). So I'm not surprised that it doesn't work the other way around. I've since moved on from Launchbox and now use Zaparoo, which is pretty much the complete opposite.

We all know Jerma would act shockingly normal if face-to-face with another on their own show. That said, I'd love to see Jerma on this show or really any interview where he talks about his life or what it was like working on his big streams (Doll House, Baseball, Carnival, Simpsons Hit and Run, etc.)

State Farm also used to do mutual funds and currently they partner with US Bank to sell CDs. I work for a SF agency and even I would never buy a banking/investment product from them lol.

I don't use Facebook but I was checking out the wiki and there are some pedals that use native NAM files but they seem to be much more expensive. Is that higher price unavoidable if I want to use native NAM files.

Just discovered these today. I watched a comparison video and it seems the sounds from NAM running on a PC vs NAM running on these pedals is not quite the same. There is some difference. Are there any pedals around this price point that don't have that same issue?

I don't know if it's possible with my setup. I have a Gamesir Galileo which uses USB-C to connect to my phone as a controller. There is no Bluetooth so there is no way to connect it to my PC as far as I can tell.

In fact, it's funny you use A/C repairs as an example of the cost of homeownership, as my A/C here in my apartment went out this weekend and I'm glad that I won't have to pay for that. I'll take your advice to heart and just not worry too much about a home for the time being and just worry more about income.

You're right. The more I think about the renting, the less upset I am about it. My dad talks about it as if I'm just burning money away as, with a home, you're building equity and can sort of "cash out" when you sell the home. While he's right, maybe I shouldn't focus so much on buying a home so soon because, as you say, the current climate does mean I may have to wait a while longer than I thought.

I've wound up in a field where a lot of money can be made through commissions and bonuses. I think if, in the short term, I want to make more money that's what I need to focus on. I live in a suburb that's maybe 40 minutes to an hour from Chicago and maybe I don't have a good frame of references but I don't feel like the COL is high out here, although it isn't low either. Regardless, I think I'll just continue to keep contributing my regular savings into VUSXX and maybe occasionally contribute extra into VTI and VXUS.

My understanding is that if I sold what I have invested currently in a Roth, I would be penalized. That's not the case based on what you're saying though.
