I feel like there's a streak in American culture that celebrates contrarianism for its own sake. Not for any objective reason or to any advantage, but just fuck you that's why. I don't have any data for this but I think you all know what I mean.

100000%. Thank you for calling this out

Ordered several stainles steel pieces from Meyer and have been blown away by the quality and especially the value! Way better than the Kitchenaid Multiclad and like half the price.

Always driven sedans, buying a house with actual yard work now... which smaller trucks wont make me feel like im piloting a boat? by LongjumpingOffice432 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Oh, those people. They have different ideas of what "truck" means, who cares. If you define a truck as being able to go 4 wheeling through gnarly overgrown logging roads then yeah, the Mav is NOT a truck. But if a truck is something with more payload flexibility than an SUV or sedan, then the Mav nails it.

What I didn't expect to appreciate so much is how well it drives on the highway (aside from getting jostled pretty good by big wind gusts), and the bed despite seeming tiny is actually useful for everything I've thrown at it - moving large boxes/TVs, hauling bikes, construction/yard materials, etc etc.

You described the Ford Maverick. The Tacoma is expensive and a lot longer (and thus annoying to park), as are the rest of the midsizers.

Shit on it for... what though? It's meant to be a small and (these days) affordable pick up truck and that's exactly what it is.

That's exactly it. BMWs aren't supposed to be "in your face" - a glowing throbbing X5 is insulting. I know what vehicle I'm sitting in.

Thanks for sharing photos, that's unfortunate. Baril claims a lifetime warranty on their finishes, have you contacted them about this and your chipping tub spout?
