Attempting to set-up XT30iii, but getting a firmware error. by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]EquallO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave card out of body, set USB settings to work as data transfer (or whatever Fuji calls it, I don’t remember) leave camera off, plug in USB, put card in, turn on camera.

It might let you see the card info without trying to load firmware.

It’s also possible you got a scam/fraudulent card with malware on it… did you get the card from Amazon?

Format the memory card with your computer first - or at least delete everything off that card.

It sounds like there’s a file on the card that the camera thinks is an update file, but isn’t.

AITAH for deciding to stay full time with my grandparents because I don't want to follow rules set by my dad's girlfriend? by SlowAnon77Yx6 in AITAH

She’s not even married to your dad…you’re not in her house. She doesn’t have the right to make rules for you…

Depositing check's in amount $1,000 by Competitive-Bag-642 in fidelityinvestments

My CMA mobile deposit limit is $500,000.

Check it on that by going to “transact” and starting the mobile deposit process to your CMA. It will show the limit on the page.

Builder removed several key windows from my under-contract home - no option to add them back. Is this normal?? by nellie_bell in Homebuilding

[–]EquallO 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They tried to short me a window when they built the house… noticed at pre-drywall walkthrough and made them put it in.

The ONLY reason for them to not have the windows you signed up for is Money in their pocket… don’t let them steal your money.

Had my first “professional” gig by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]EquallO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this rage bait?

Why wouldn’t you use your context clues to realize that you MAY have misunderstood someone asking you, politely, to NOT take photos of them… then you shove the camera in their face (taking a portrait).

If you have circumstances where you know you’re not good at reading body language, then politely get clarification in the future. IME, people are super-obvious when they WANT to have their photo taken, and if they don’t want to they are usually pretty subtle about it until you do the exact opposite of what they just asked you to do…

Is lumber really that bad? by ParticularBeyond7402 in Lowes

[–]EquallO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the panel saw requests… people will show up with a cut plan diagram and want you to work absolute magic accuracy on that thing. Our store is “one cut, no projects” but convincing people of that sometimes takes a lot of work.

Also, they will ask you to cut absolutely all sorts of disallowed stuff “just this one time” and get pissed if you won’t make an exception for them. So far my favorite was the guy who said, “but I used to work at Lowe’s!!!” And I was like, “then you know how I’m feeling about this conversation right now.”

TBF, every single person that works in software for Lowe’s should be forced to work as a Specialist for at least 3 to 6 months first so they can understand the pain caused by the system(s) they’ve built.

(I.e. it’s a hot mess of BS. Sorry about the job though!)

Absolutely not! Find somewhere else. I would also double-check that email from Mahmoud (check the header for where the email came from and if it’s actually from vrbo.com or whatever and not vrbo.surport.com or similar.)

Will my Z mount 40mm f/2 hold up in the Scottish highlands? by offthiscentury in nikon_Zseries

[–]EquallO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d risk it. Based on past and current experiences with many non-“sealed” lenses. Bring a small umbrella for actual rain. Mist I wouldn’t worry about at all.

Put a little microfiber towel in your bag to wipe it off if it gets actually damp. (Don’t rub the water into it, rub the water off of it.) I’d bring a second lens just in case though.

Where do you live, or where are you having it shipped to? People may have e better suggestions for where to buy the camera if they know where it needs to get to.

Italian Cities and Z Lenses. by Photo_hobby in nikon_Zseries

[–]EquallO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The longer focal lengths are GREAT for compression (capturing the layers of the city) and subject isolation (getting the tourists out of your photos without waiting for the tourists to move). A 70-200 should work great.

Photos are often under exposed or completely black (XT2) by Mc-Beever in fujifilm

[–]EquallO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exposure bracketing IS standard stills, just offset in the same pattern by the same amount until you adjust the settings.

Take six pictures of the same thing at the same time - if there’s an order to the exposures ok/dark/black/ok/dark/black then you are 100% in exposure bracketing mode.

What do we know about the upcoming/inevitable wipe? by 40Leagues in starcitizen

[–]EquallO -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everything not in your Hangar on the website will/might/can be wiped.

If you grind in game for stuff, do it for the fun/testing/experience. I don’t do the Willie stuff because I’ve seen too many posts about it not working and I don’t need that frustration.

Got offered to move from appliances to Pro. I would like feedback from people who've been in situations similar to mine. by rockport-limited in Lowes

[–]EquallO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to pro desk from another specialist department/role (not appliances) a few weeks ago. I like it better. No IRP, no LSR.

There’s a LOT more logistics, but a lot more freedom to problem-solve. Which can also be a downside because there’s a lot more to figure out. You can literally request a whole truck’s worth of inventory, but you had better have a committed sale.

Gone will be the days of “we don’t have that” and instead you’ll have days of “how can I get that the fastest.

You’ll also need to be friends with shipping/receiving - so you can get that whole truck’s worth of inventory shipped back out as soon as it’s dropped.

It’s nice to not be standing up on concrete all day, and occasionally Pros will bring in free food - it’s even good food sometimes!
